Don't listen to the haters
NFS: The Run is awesome, to put it bluntly. The ones that disagree are stuck in the past. Time to move on, fellas. This isn't 1999.Graphics - 9/10Utilizing Battlefield 3's Frostbite 2 engine, the environments look beautiful and the cars look amazing. Ranging from snow-capped mountains to open deserts, the game uses the engine well. Only downfall is the terrible quality of the anti-aliasing and the ungodly amounts of screen tearing.Sound - 9/10 Not too many environment sounds, but the car sounds are great. Every car has a different sound. While the voiceovers aren't exactly up to scratch of a triple-A game, it works.Gameplay - 8/10 This is the more rough-around-the-edges part of the game. Some events are fun as hell, while others are frustratingly difficult. The game uses a "Rewind" system so that whenever you crash or press the back button, it sends you back to the last checkpoint. While this is a great idea, it's a wasted opportunity. There are only 5 resets to a race and it takes anywhere from 5-15 seconds to load. And on some occasions, you won't even crash when hitting a pole or a car, thus wasting a reset to get back into the race.Controls - 10/10Let's face it - the controls for Hot Pursuit were terrible. The cars handled like a dump truck and it was tough to adjust. While the controls are similar here, they have been tightened up and feels realistic.Fun Factor - 4.5/5 Overall, the game is very fun except for a few hitches here and there.5/5

The Run is Awesome!
Here's the gist: The mob is after you, and one of your old pals hires you to race across the country for 10% of a 25 million dollar prize. You get to choose from a selection of cars in your garage to start, then race from San Fran. to NY. You must beat out 200 other racers to win.The graphics using the Frostbite 2 engine are absolutely stunning. You can also set the sound to hear more of the racing aspect, or a "Hollywood" chase. The default camera is awesome, making you feel right in the action with every turn, speed boost & crash. The multiplayer also has many challenges to compete in to unlock more cars. Up to 16 players can participate online. The multiplayer is split into playlists including Supercar Challenge, NFS Edition Racing, The Underground, Mixed Competition, Muscle Car Battles, and Exotic Sprint. The only con for me is that there isn't a cockpit view. All in all though, this is a definite adrenaline ride, and in my opinion, the most fun I've had with a non-sim racer in a long time.

Fun to play, replay, and then some.
I originally owned this game when it first came out in November 2011 for my xbox360. Incredibly addicting. I purchased it again recently because I found my old Xbox 360 in a box and set it up. Unfortunately, this game IS NOT backwards compatible to operate on my Xbox Series X.

Some don't think so, but I thought it was one of the best in the NFS series
I personally enjoyed the story line. It pulled me in. The story mode is appropriately challenging but still fun even when the going gets tough. The game has some randomness at times (random glitches where you drive into digital unconstructed nothingness)...this happen with certain challenges, but not in story mode. In police chases, they clearly have it out for you relative to other drivers in single player mode and it gets worse as you get closer to reaching target times to reach gold. This imbalance also shows in how the game generates traffic specifically for you to lose and not just as part of the everyone's challenge in a race. However I love a challenge. The more the game "hates" on my skills...the more I want to beat it. So I guess for those type of gamers...job well done. Playing online is blast once you know the every track well. Until then, expect to get trashed and destroyed by the more experienced racers.

Cruisin' USA Next Gen
A race across the country from San Fran to NYC, with many stops along the way. Simply put the concept is an updated Cruisin USA. Which is not a bad thing at all. Point to point racing with a few surprises thrown in here and there to keep it fun and from getting boring. I love the game and would play it again through the story multiple times.Great graphics and physics. The cars handle as they should to be realistic but not so hard that it isn't fun. You can really get a sense of the power under the hood in each vehicle. Great car selection too. Beamers, Lambos, Porsches, Aston Martins, Nissans and many more. There isn't a lot of depth here for free roaming or customization, but there isn't supposed to be. So if that's what you like in a racing game, go elsewhere.Mainly I love this game because it reminds me of all the old racing games from the N64 era and how they were plain old fun, without all the complications. Except this is HD graphics and a lot more detailed landscapes. A good amount and variety of terrain on the tracks as well. Dirt roads, asphalt, snow and plenty of hidden shortcuts and alternate routes to seek out.

very good game
Is good, the disk was barely scratched in one place. The game itself is pretty good but not quite up to the standard of other NFS racing games. The drifting feature is harder to do than NFS Rivals and hairpin turns are extremely sharp, so it will take quite a bit of practice to do it well. The race is segmented into certain distances, but they are fairly short, I like longer races like in Rivals.
