Coleman 1468B3389 Motor Package

Easy install after removing the old motor. The screw for the shaft IS self tapping and I used a drill and star bit to tap it first before install. Easy peasy. Others should ask first before assuming it’s not correct. Anyway I would purchase again if needed (but hope I never do) 😊

Down to the screw and exact match to our Coleman Mach A/C. Worked great!...and still is.....

One other review talked about the shaft had no threads for the screw to secure the fan blade in place. True it does not, however the included screw is a tapping screw so it made it's own threads. PLEASE add a picture of the fan motor to the description. I was a bit nervous of making the purchase with no picture reference. I'm happy I was able to make this purchase instead of buying an entire new AC unit.

Motor was difficult to change due to the studs spinning on the mounting base. Had to leave the original motor frame in place and removed the clamps that hold the motor to the frame, Fortunately, the capacitor came off of the frame OK so I could change motor. A quick change out that wound up taking an afternoon.

Wished I would have read the reviews first. No threads on the hole so I arranged to return it via Amazon. I was concerned that the next one I ordered would be the same. I spent $20 on a 10-32 tap and a tap wrench and quickly threaded the hole. Then I read the reviews about being a self taping screw. The screw did not have the slit that most self taping screw have to assist in the taping operation. Shame on Coleman for not having a note about that!

No issues w/ order or installation. All parts were included. These are still shipping w/ out the threads inside the shaft to hold the squirrel cage, but it was pretty easy to hold the cage and turn the screw in w/ my drill. Took 5 seconds.A pic of the motor and mount it comes on would be nice to see, though.

The motor looked excellent but somewhere in manufacturing it missed having the hole in the end of the spindle shaft threaded thus there is no way to hold the blower fan on. I am sending this back.Received a replacement quickly but discovered it had the same problem. Sensing a pattern developing I did not return this one but instead used a 10x32 tap to thread the hole and then installed the motor. Discovered the front of the bracket was bent a bit but was able to easily straighten it.Bottom line: received a usable motor but had to do unanticipated work to make it function. Without the proper tools and the skills to use them this would have been a failure. BUYER BEWARE.
