1 Thick NMO Mount to Short Type 1" SO-239 Adapter PBH Packing

Nice and short works for my application had limited space and this works

This NMO mount didn't come with a sealing gasket or O-ring like some of the others do. There was a groove for an O-ring though. I made a mount on the bracket for my over-the-windshield light bar on my Jeep Wrangler and put this mount there.Works as it should. No issues other than the lack of a sealing O-ring, But I had one in my O-ring kit that was close and used it.The mount holds a 2M/70cm dual band antenna from Browning with a low SWR of 1.15:1

I was running an antenna and coax that required a double ended SO-239 mount. My new antenna required a NMO connection. By using the 1 Thick NMO Mount to Short Type 1" SO-239 Adapter, I was able to replace the double ended SO-239 mounting stud. Perfect fix... so it took longer to get the tools out and put them back than it did to change the antenna. The bottom of the stud is SO-239, the top is NMO. No need to mess with the mount or grounding wire. / I removed the old antenna, coax and mounting stud from the mounting bracket. Then installed the new stud in the bracket attached the coax and new antenna... presto JOB DONE. Check impedance/SWR before using the radio.

I used this to mount a GMRS antenna to our motorhome roof (which has an aluminum top) and this worked perfectly. I like the fact that the NMO part can be tightened with a standard wrench, and it also has an o-ring to seal against the surface that you are mounting to. I added some caulk to this ring just to be safe. One thing I will note, is that if your surface material is more than about 1/8 inch thick, it will start to take away from the threads that the bottom UHF connector will need to fully attach.

These NMO mounts are second to none. Quality made. Will buy more.

Replaced a SO 239 mount. Cut it off and installed a PL 239, put the new mount in the hole and screwed on the cable.Easy way to convert it to NMO, didn't have to pull out the cable and pull in a new one. On a tire mount bracket back of the Rav-4.3 Rapped a little tape on the connection -----job done.

Product itself is fine, but really should have included the $0.10 rain cap - or specifically mentioned that it isn't included. Since this mount is permanently attached to the vehicle, I (like many I assume) keep their antennas off when not in use so you can go through car washes, etc.
