Does the light in the base change colors?? I would prefer it to be white light and NOT change colors. Is that an option

It is a white light. There are 3 settings: base light soft white glow, top light bright white and then both base & top together. These lamps are very classy and unusual. Everyone who sees them comments on how much they like them. My daughter loves the base light as a night light. Hopes this helps

Can we replace the nightlight LED that is in the base?

Yes. There is a hole in the bottom that allows access to the nighlight bulb.
