Kaytee Tropical Fiddle Sticks Hideout Multiple Colors Small

I got this a while back and never got around to reviewing it, but I have to say, this is a favorite hideout with our mice! We've had it since we set up the cage for our boy and he absolutely loves it! We have a Critter Trail set up so he also uses the upper nest/petting area but you still find him and his boys in this little hidey-hole downstairs sometimes! We curved it like a log hideout and it's taken a bit of chewing and is still working out great. These pieces are quite thick - more so than I was expecting when I ordered - and it takes up more space than I was expecting but it was one of the best things we purchased for our new mice.

The product is nice and colorfull but I wouldnt say the same about the condition I recieved in the mail. It looked a bit worn out, some of the paint was coming off, it had something weird on it- it looked like mold but it wasnt, I dont know what it was and it also had wierd paint on it too, also didnt know what it was. Basically, it came kind of in an old condition. Other than that, I wanted to give it a try for my hamster because I was waiting all day for it. I definately wouldnt want to buy another one on amazon ever again, id rather buy it in the store and not risk getting another one in odd condition. Also, it came with silica gel to keep moisture out, not sure what to think of that.I cant replace it just because it came in odd, crappy condition.

This toy is neat in that the wood pieces are bigger and thicker than I thought, and the part holding them together is quite sturdy, and can be bent as you like! It's a neat toy and our hammy already loves it!

I overestimated the size so it's a little smaller than I thought but that doesn't stop my two rats from chewing it and using it as a step. They just can't go through it. Other than that it's a great product the default was on me.

I noticed a very strong musty smell as soon as I removed it from the packaging - not good. Also, the sticks were very rustic - with a rough finish, even a few small splinters poking out. It didn't deem it safe enough for use by my Syrian hamster. Indeed, it did not smell right at all - almost like an old damp mold. I wondered if it was unsafe for the hamster to crawl about on. After I saw him curiously sniff at it for a good 10 seconds the first time he saw it and then refuse to step on it, I threw it out. For me it wasn't worth the risk of possibly bringing some old mld into his habitat. Too bad, because if it was fine (no mold/must) I think he would have enjoyed using it due to having a good size and being a flexible hideaway.

Great for my pet mice as hideout, climbing toy, and ramp to get between the floors of their house (a hacked Ikea cabinet with 5 shelves). Sturdy, safe to chew, cleans up fine, and the mice seem comfortable using it. I use bleach/water solution and then sit it in the sun to dry out. The metal has not rusted. I've had this item for about 8 months.

Love this product. It was a lot bigger than I thought I was pleasantly surprised. Is also pretty sturdy my full grown Rex Rabbit can sit on top of it and it will maintain its shape. It is also big enough for him to hide in. I have one for my guinea pigs as well they both fit comfortably inside it together.

The metal bits are a little exposed and it could be an issue but the gerbils like sleeping in it and knawing it

Bought this for our 9 week old Guinea pigs but it's far too small for them. However I will keep it for them to climb on as I refuse to pay to return it to the seller in USA. I wouldn't have bought it if I'd known it was coming from USA.
