Works awesome!!!!
I broke a 1/4-20 tap off inside the gearcase of my Evinrude. Worked great to get it out... I was even able to use the broken tap to finish cutting the threads to the depth i needed before removing it!Im so happy this worked or else I would have have had to buy a new lower unit for at least $500

They work okay
Used to extract a broken tap. I found I kept breaking the fingers off on my extractor and was not able to get the broken tap out. This is not uncommon and not a reflection on the tool. It is what it is.

it is a hit or miss depending how badly you stuck the broken tap - worth the try
I bent the fingers two times, cutting the bends after each try to try again. Before the third try I ground the tap's broke top a little more with a diamond crusted 3/6" barrel dremel tool.on the third try I didn't have enough finger length to use the collar AND the little piece that holds the fingers at the top.. so with the fingers in place, as well as collar that rides near the surface, I inserted the middle shaft and tried again...first clockwise and then counterclockwise as directed, did this numerous times until I could feel the tap get past where it was sticking on the drilled out bolt...and it came out easily there after.I suggest that walton supplies at least one more set of fingers with each tool.Saved me hours of grinding down the broken tap with that diamond barrel.

overpriced and did not work at all
Over priced and did not work. the prongs did not properly fit into the tap slots and after filling them down a little to insert they simply bent and twisted not budging the trap in the slightest.Ended up carefully building up a bead on the end of the tap with my tig welder and welding a nut onto the bead. got it out carefully with a spam wrench and loads of cutting oil.

It did the job
The extractor worked fine for me. It does take a bit of prep work. Each of the tines/fingers must be filed down to fit in the space between the broken tap and material that was being tapped. This took some time. Once I had what I felt was enough contact surface, I gave it a try and it came out nice and easy.I wasn't able to get the collar all the way down as per the instructions, but I felt it was close enough. It also was a bit tricky getting all the tines/fingers back into the tool once they were filed. Nothing too hard, but it took some fiddling.
