Good and Sturdy Safe!
I got this because I have a kid who sneaks into stuff at night. Now he can't. It's a good study safe with mounting hardware. I would make sure to hit a stud because it is 20+ lbs.

It’ll get the job done
Product came with a few scratches. But the lock works great. Not the most secure device but it will deter any house guests from temptation, which is why we purchased.

Doesn’t Work
Even though I followed the product instructions to a T, creating a numerical code does not work. Also, even though the alarm has been disarmed, it still goes off. All in all pretty disappointed. I don’t want to hassle with a return, so we will just use the keys manually to open.

Everything I wanted
OK, so this is going to sound weird, but bear with me here. I store candy in this. Yup. For me, just having it and knowing it's available to me when I want it and nobody else will eat it is often enough for me to not feel like I have to eat it all right away, myself which in turn means I don't really eat it at all and yet I still feel satisfied knowing it's there It's a weird psychological thing my wife refers to as "The law of the jungle" --> If you are worried someone else is going to eat it, you feel pressure to eat it now or you won't get any; on the other hand, if you know it's always there, you can wait. So anyway I was just hiding my little stash of goodness but the problem is that the kids started catching on that Dad likes to hide candy and if they can find it, they can eat it and he may not figure it out for quite some time. It's like an Easter egg hunt on a grand scale. Well, this wouldn't do, so I needed a safer way to hide my forbidden calories. It didn't need to be water proof, fire proof, or secure enough to keep the NSA out. It didn't need to be huge, but it had to hold more than a few documents. It didn't need to be super hidden, but I liked the idea of some tampering deterrence. And I didn't want to pay a ton for it. This did all I needed. It's currently holding several Reese's peanut butter cups, several XL candy bars, a super-sized bag of M&Ms, a bag of gummies and some other stuff and I could easily put quite a bit more in.I like that there is an alarm that will go off if the kids try to guess my password, which I'm certain they will do once they catch on. This comes with hardware to bolt it to the floor or wall, but I don't think that's necessary for me so I just have it sitting on a shelf. I have to admit, I get quite a kick out of going and opening it up and seeing it full of candy of all things. Something about that just strikes my funny bone, but you know what? It works and this thing is everything I wanted. Thanks, Yale!

Good for pistol storage...
I ordered this Yale Security safe in the smallest size, for the specific reason of storing a pistol inside. We have a 9 year old child in the house, so gun safety is a huge priority in our home. We have a large gun safe for my husband's hunting rifles and shotguns, but it is in a rather cumbersome area to get to quickly. This small safe easily fits on the shelf of a bedroom closet, and keeps the pistol safely away from our daughter but easy to access if we suddenly need it for protection. The safe has an electronic lock, and you pick your own code, anywhere from 3 to 8 digits or letters. It took us a few minutes to figure out how to program it, but we also neglected to look at the provided directions before trying. After 3 incorrect code attempts to open it, a 130 decibel alarm will go off. We tested it, and it is very audible all throughout our 3 story house, although I'm not sure that a neighbor would notice it. There are also 2 override keys included, which of course should be stored in a separate location. The safe uses AA batteries, and there is a low battery alert light. I can't comment on how long the batteries last, since we've only had it for about 2 weeks. For our own needs, which is storing a pistol safely away from a child, this small safe is excellent. However, the safe is only about 13 pounds. A robber could easily pick it up and remove it from the house. So, it wouldn't be ideal for storing your valuable jewelry, cash, etc. There are short fixing bolts included for securing the safe to a wall or floor, but that's not necessarily very effective for a safe this small. The safe is not fire proof, or waterproof. Storing important papers in this isn't optimal. I prefer to keep those type of things in my bank safe deposit box instead. I recommend this safe if your purpose of using it is the same as ours, which is storing a pistol safely away from a child.

Meets expectations (for the most part)
Main complaint is that the lever to open the safe is made out of plastic that feels like it's on the flimsy side. Would have been a much better product if it was metal.
