OK not a problem if you are facing the lock from the outside and the hinges are on the left you need an LL1000. Whatever side the hinge it’s on and you standing outside that is your handing

can you install it upside down to change handle direction?

No, you would need LR1011-26D-41 which is the Right Hand version of this same lock if you need the Right Hand lever.
