Outstanding.
Fast-paced and brilliantly plotted conclusion to the initial Isabella Rose saga.I'm reminded from time to time of a line from Private Investigations, the Dire Straits song: "Treachery and treason; there's always an excuse for it. And when I find the reason, I never can get used to it."Looking forward to the fifth in the series. I'll have to divert myself with Wormwood until then!

This is another good book in the series, which should be read in order. A cross between Jane Bond and Taken. Good action.

The Assassin (An Isabella Rose Thriller Book 4)
What a great book. I have now read all 4 of these books and they just get better and better. In fact this author is so good, I tell my friends all about his books. If you have not read any of these authors book's, make sure you read them in order.

Another great inventive book from Mark Dawson
Although this is fourth in the series of Isabella Rose books and it is useful to have read previous ones, it is not necessary as it includes references that make it a stand alone book. As usual a great rapid paced book, I read it in one sitting as stuck on broken down coach from Scotland to Suffolk for 12 hrs, but would not have been able to put it down anyway. I like all the nods to other Mark Dawson characters, and was pleased to see Pope back in this book. Now eagerly awaiting next John Milton book.

Another winner from Mark Dawson.
Well I know I am going to enjoy a Mark Dawson book, I always do !!Ciudad Juárez, Mexico, is the most dangerous city in the world. And when a mission to break the local cartel’s grip goes wrong, Isabella Rose, the Angel, finds herself on the wrong side of prison bars. Fearing the worst, Isabella plays her only remaining card…British agent Vivian Bloom is determined to be the first to reach her, certain she will lead him to other operatives he’s under pressure to hunt down. But US agents are circling too. And with the shadowy Prometheus group pulling the strings, Isabella knows that she and her mentor, the Asset, are living on borrowed time…The Assassin is the fourth part in a continuing story involving Isabella Rose that also includes The Angel, The Asset and The Agent.I can recommend all four of these books, alongside the three Beatrix Rose books, I love them !Here, we have a collection of returning characters some great, some rather nasty.Isabella, yes has one of the main roles but greatly assisted with the return of Michael Pope, Atari, Vivian Bloom and of course our Asset.Does this book has an explosive ending, no it starts fast and stays at a relentless fast pace all the way through the book as we keep up with the different characters all around the world. What can I say, well firstly read all Beatrix Rose first, then read all four Isabella Books, then like me try and read all the John Milton books.Highly recommended, great action, great pace, a good thriller, strong characters, great ending.A clear four star and close to a five star.

Dangerously addictive!
I have been reading Mr Dawson’s books for the last five or six weeks, and have just surfaced to leave a review. I started with The Cleaner then moved through the next five John Milton books, interspersed with Beatrix Rose before encountering Isabella. Mr Dawson is a true story teller. He writes in good properly constructed sentences, which are well constructed with clear grammar. I find this important in my writers. His stories are good, and his plots, if far fetched, are never implausible. I find I can accept the unlikely, I am even prepared to agree with the impossible, provided the setting is right. I am never prepared to accept the implausible. So, John Milton is a former assassin who helps people, and is an alcoholic who wishes to atone. Implausible? Possibly. Impossible? Certainly not. Well written? Definitely.Beatrix is a former assassin seeking revenge. Ditto.Isabella is the daughter of Beatrix aided, guided and abetted by Michael Pope, friend and former colleague of John Milton. But you need to start with John as The Cleaner and work your way through. You will hopefully enjoy them as much as I do.

Tying up loose ends
Loved the previous 3 books and the start of this one, but towards the end I found I could actually put it down and had almost to force myself to read the rather formulaic end

Excellent ending to the series
The author has brought the characters to life and leaves the storyline open for a follow up book in the Isabella Rose story. It is a fitting end for the main characters to have survived all that was thrown at them by the bad guys who all ended up paying for their greed and corruption. The storyline was well packaged and from book 1 to book 4,the story was written in such a way that kept the reader willing Isabella and Pope success in their quest to find and ultimately kill the perpetrators of the violence and suffering that they had to endure. The author has the knack of writing storylines that are both compelling and believable with his characters,Milton,Beatrix Rose,Isabella Rose and not forgetting Michael Pope.I look forward to reading about more adventures of Isabella and Pope in the future.
