Fixed defrost of freezer.
No more frost in freezer. This little item allows the defrosting to work. So far so good. Been several months and still working. There's videos online if need more info how to install.

Our 3 year old Whirlpool was Freezing solid. ...... its fixed
I went out to YouTube and looked up what may have been the issue with our new Whirlpool Refer.We paid a fortune for this Whirlpool. We were so frustrated with the Freezing, sticking freezer door and ice maker not working.After watching a video, they said it was a quick easy fix.Mostly True. The thermostat is mounted on the inside of the freezer. So you have to pulled all of the drawers out. That took over an hour. but mounting the Thermostat only took about 5 minutes.This little part just saved me $3000 to replace this Whirlpool. Thanks.

Easy install part.
Works like it should. Added connecters on the wire ends to make it easier to connect, other than that installation went easy.

Thermostat for Maytag
This thermostat was used in a Maytag French Door Refrigerator with bottom drawer freezer. So far the fridge does not have the symptom of freeze-up, but more time may need to pass to be sure. The thermostat was soldered in place and the soldered joints were covered with heat shrink tubing. Update: It has been five months since install. It is still working....freezer keeps food frozen. None of the old symptoms have presented.

DIY Repair
I made a half dozen unsuccessful attempts at repairing my 19 year old fridge, which was accumulating ice in the freezer and eventual blockage of the condensation drain with water draining into fridge. After finally troubleshooting the controls, I finally found the correct solution of replacing the thermostatic control and the bimetal component. Voila! All fixed with no further condensation accumulation.

Didn’t work
I ordered this for my father-in-law. He worked in refrigeration for many years. We checked the model # and the part said it would work for his model - it did not :(
