Previous reviewer indicated that a 1/2" gap existed between retaining ring and pin when closed. They have between 1/4 & 1/2 inch gap BUT flipping the retaining ring to the other side closes the gap completely.

i plan on using these as spares... :)

Worked as expected.

In the down or closed position, there is still about a 1/2" gap. Not closing tight like they're product picture has them. I threw them out.
