Viking Contemporary 3-Ply Stainless Steel Stock Pot, 8 Quart Soup Cooking Pot with Lid, Kitchen Cookware

This is a great pot for making soups or stews with large chunks of meat. Other pots or dutch ovens I've used for similar purposes trend towards getting wider, not taller, as they move up to this size, which isn't ideal if you're trying to cook a whole chicken or a large roast. This pot is a great combination of width and height which allows the cooking of large single pieces of meat without having to choose between using an excessive amount of liquid or risk drying out a large portion of the meat. Additionally while I bought it primarily for its dimensions I was also pleasantly surprised by the quality and thickness of the metal, this is not your typical thin walled stainless stock pot, its significantly thicker, making it perform more like a very large dutch oven, a big plus in my book.

i have 1 of these already it is perfect looks good on my new stove heats up well i as a truck mechanic look for quality i do not buy cheap stuff sold in box stores and tv selling shows my wife and i share the kitchen more than going out to eat .bottom line quality pots and pans make great food plus we spend good times in our kitchen my advise spend a little more now and if you take care of it it will last thank you viking

I love my Viking pieces. They require less maintenance than my other cookware and the quality is great. Although they aren’t the cheapest options out there, the quality is excellent for the price so I think they are a great value and they will last a very long time. This stock pot is large and sturdy. I was all my pots/pans by hand and this is a bit cumbersome in the sink because of its size. I wanted a 6 qt stockpot but couldn’t find a proper one that was priced right. So I decided on this and I’m very happy with it. It takes quite a long time to bring up to boil which is really the only thing I wish was different but that’s because of the thickness and quality of the material so I’m not complaining.

You get what you paid for a very high-quality pot you will not regret this purchase

As a mom with a large family I think I’ve found my go to Dutch oven. The quality is impeccable. Heats up evenly. Handles don’t get hot, lid is perfect. The 8 qt feeds my big family with leftovers! I have a feeling I will be keeping this for years and years to come.

Great quality and design, reasonably priced. I tried Viking in lieu of All-Clad to see how I would like the product. It is a good alternative at a fair price.
