I tested this switch with a Kill-A-Watt power meter. It consumes no power in either the on or off state. This is excellent. I used to use power-strips that waste 1.5W when they are on. No more! I also like the small form factor that doesn't prevent you from plugging in other things nearby. The ground connection is also great to have.

Super fast and painless way to add a switch to a lamp, or other light to medium duty cord. I like that they don't have lights that draw energy and that the current is turned off at the outlet. It's also nice that they don't need remotes or cell phones or IT support ;-)

There are so many appliances that just stay ON even though they are supposedly off. I have at least a 1/2-dozen of these around the house and make sure certain appliances are truly shut-off when I think they're off. This goes for my toaster, Ethernet extender, TV, air-fryer, et al. I'm not necessarily doing this to save $ on electricity, but sometimes there just is no benefit to having things on when you think they're off. In some cases, some of these devices go through a sort of 'reboot' on power-up and that little 'reset' can be beneficial (i.e. reaccessing your local network, for example). My electric blanket has an on/off switch too that is just too easy to get turned back on accidentally. This device makes sure it's off, for sure. Just kind of an extra level of safety in some cases.

I have a decent amount of handheld Ham and GMRS radios and these work well for my application so I can leave all the charging cradles plugged in.

The listing was confusing. The four pack was listed as UltraPro, which is a different company than GE. I was relieved what I received today are labeled as GE made by Jasco, with GE logo on the switches. They look identical to the ones I have had for a few years.

I just got these and already love them! I originally bought them to save some money on my power bill by eliminating the "phantom electricity" slurped up by chargers and small appliances when not in use. While I may not see the savings right away because I bought two packs of four for $40, they are already paying for themselves in convenience and practicality. I tend to leave things plugged in because I don't want to wear the outlets out and make them loose inside, causing the outlet to need replacement. My house already had a few spots where plugs fall right back out from the previous owner's chargers and hair tools. Since these are 3-prong, they hold onto those loose outlets a little better, making them usable again, and if I do have to unplug my own chargers and hair tools for travel, the impact is on these devices and not my house's outlets. They fit great with two in use (see photo) unlike most adaptors that block the other outlet. I also like that they are one color with no red and the "on" side of the switch has a bump you can feel for so you don't have to be looking right at it, which is handy for my bedside charger. Also, the ones I received have the GE logo and say they are licensed by GE. I chose these because the brand advertised is one sold at Lowe's, but GE is good too! I'll definitely be buying more!
