Westcott FJ400 Strobe 1-Light Backpack Kit with FJ-X2m Universal Wireless Trigger and Rapid Box Switch Octa-S

I needed something compact, light and easy to travel with. I have purchased so many lighting setups but this one is my favorite. You will be buying a well made product that is so super easy to use - even if you’re a beginner like myself. If you have a Sony, don’t forget the adapter. I also thought based on on the product pictures that the gels were included, THEY ARE NOT. This unit fires off fast so you won’t miss a shot. If you’re like me and looked at every flash out there and not sure which one to get, I highly recommend this one. Fits so easy in the backpack so you’re not hassling around with several pieces. Popping the umbrella up and down is so easy too, no clunky sticks to assemble. Just make sure you have a sturdy stand or a weighted bag just to be safe (I didn’t not use one but I’m getting one as my stand is a cheap lightweight stand and I don’t trust it).Hope this helped?

I have been taking pictures a long time and always used speedlights. I this is my first foray into strobes in the 40+ years of photography as a hobby. My daughter wanted to hire a photographer to take senior pictures. I was going to indulge her even though I dabble in photography. I always advise friends to hire a professional for important events. After finding out the cost, it was decided that I would do the photoshoot. I did a fair amount of research, mainly YouTube. The Westcott FJ400 generally got great reviews for a cost effect strobe that delivers. I have no other basis for comparison in regards to other products offered, but I am quite please with the ease of use and all that was offered with the backpack kit. Purchasing the kit provided me with a modifier that more than delivers as I gain a better understanding of the advantages of the different types of softboxes and umbrellas. In my fist shoot using the FJ400, I was very happy with the results.

Use for business head shots and family portraits. Well made and easy to use. Only dislikes are that the included FJ-X2m transceiver is a bit plasticky... and no included deflector plate to use umbrella as a beauty dish. Extremely happy with it overall.

Perfect light for my shoots! Prices is a little high but worth it.
