This works awesome,, I just bought this house
This works awesome,,I just bought this house, it has a finished basement with a bathroom, when we moved in we had to remove drywall with mold,I bought this to help with the moisture problem,,, it dried the whole basement in a Couple days. Only complaint is the water tray is a little cumbersome to pull out then dump without spilling water, it could use a funnel type spout, then getting the tray back into the unit can also be tricky.

Do not recommend!
I purchased 2 - on one of them the float did not work and I waked into the room with water on the bedroom floor and it ran to the ceiling of the main floor, the second one never worked, it ran for 15 hours and never pulled any water from the room. - I returned and received credit. Amazon was great with the return process! I purchased a fridgadaire model and it worked perfectly.

We have had no problem with this dehumidifier. The only issue is it can overfill when the little reservoir near the top gets filled with water allowing it to overflow. When emptying it we make sure that the reservoir doesn't still have some water in it which may cause the overflow issue. We check it often so this isn't a big problem for us. We think it was worth it for the price. The humidifier is capable of having a hose run from it to a drain. We use it in the basement, but only need to set it at the lowest setting to keep the humidity down, unless it is really hot & humid outside. Then the air conditioner is turned on so that we aren't unnecessarily overworking the dehumidifier since we don't want to set it on high. When it's that humid outside we like the air conditioner on, but we expect the humidifier would work as well otherwise.

Did not last very long
Worked good, but the unit gives off heat while operating (was used in a walk in closet). The manual says warm air exhaust is normal. It was so warm, it actually heated the whole master bedroom by wafting out of the walk in closet. This seems excessive. The bucket was fairly easy to empty. My main complaint is it recently died and is no longer under it's one year warranty. It lasted approximately 1 1/2 years. Frustrating, another throw away for the landfill.

Works great... but too noisy
I purchased this unit for our oversized two car garage (28’x28’), because with the humid weather the concrete floor was always damp, and there was a musty smell to the place. The unit arrived in fine shape and was in service within about 5 minutes. I got this one because it had the continuous drain option, which I wanted to take advantage of. Good thing too because this unit would fill the bucket every 12 hours. I also own a 70 pint version made by Soleus, which is in our crawl space, and that one has been trouble free and is whisper quiet. The Good: The controls are easy to use, and you can quickly set it to one of the pre-set humidity levels, or set your own custom value. I started out with the presets, but I found that it removed TOO MUCH humidity from the garage – the place actually felt bone dry when you went in. I ended up setting it to 75%, which seems to be a good balance. Based on just these attributes I’d give the unit 4 stars at least. The Bad: This unit makes a LOT more noise than expected, even on the low fan setting. It’s OK for a garage, but I can actually hear it through the 6” insulated wall between the garage & the laundry room when I’m in there. If I'm going to work in the garage I turn it off. There is no way you would want this in your living space unless you were not planning to be there. The unit makes its own noise while running, but then there is also an annoying plastic rattle that it makes while it’s running. If you give the top a smack it stops, but not for long. Our 70 pint version is nothing like this one. The rattle might just be our unit, but the noise that this unit makes is built in and not good.Summary: I probably would have returned it if I had not already recycled the box. It works great, but only buy this for remote or empty building applications.

The 30 pint size is perfect for holding when emptying excess water
The 30 pint size is perfect for holding when emptying excess water. Had this dehumidifier only a short time and alread the 'clean filter light is on so don't know what that means. I would definately recommend this for small space areas in a humid State.

I researched all dehumidifiers and decided on the Soleus Air 30 pint model. I was disappointed while reading page 5 of the user's manual to learn that this dehumidifier is not an Energy Star product. I am amazed that companies still produce products that are not designed to save energy while using the them. So now I have to use my time and energy to return this product.

STILL GOING STRONG
Auto on after power outage is best feature. Running for years in unfinished basement with water and high humidity. Like preset humidity levels for different living areas (no guessing)
