Ribbon too long

I basically spent £14 on a piece of plastic and now I have to pay an additional £5 for black ribbon because the ribbon on the necklace was wayyyy too long. I'm an average sized gal and it wasn't a choker whatsoever... However, the 'pendant' seems pretty decent as in no marks or scratches or anything like that. Just disappointed. Wish I checked the measurements, but because of the length, I don't recommend.
