Blurb sold me. Book wasn't as great.
**I'm not sure I read the same book as the others because I don't understand the high ratings??The blurb and the cover were what sold me! The story started off hysterical then tapered off to forced humor and eye rolls--which I was still ok with because I was looking for a light and funny read. But 3/4 of the way through, when Jagger makes Magnolia dinner and she picks his brain for her article...who wrote that? It was a completely different feel than the beginning. Jagger did a 180 and all of a sudden he had no more sexual innuendos or witty comebacks? From that point on everything went downhill and I found myself struggling to finish because it was just so insane. "Come use my bathroom. Sleep here. I'll take the couch. We can watch a movie. I'm tired. We can watch it in bed, I'll stay on top of covers. Use me as a pillow." Touch and feel and bam, they're having sex for the first time and spewing I Love You's. Hello??And what's up with her ridiculous job and finding out Jagger's involvement? She didn't even hesitate with her "I forgive you". Whaatttt?? And don't even get me started on the public sex right before a proposal--with their family and friends! I'm sorry, but the last 25% of this book totally ruined it for me. It was predictable, cliche, and hurried. I really wanted to love this one, but it needs a different ending as well as grammar/errors fixed.

Laugh out Loud sexy romp
Magnolia and Jagger were sweet and funny as a couple it starts out with left notes on doors that lead to naughty flirting hes the Rude Guy in number 5 Magnolia the object of his fantasies lives in number 4 theres a history between these two that begin long before they lived in the same apartment it begin when she was 8 and he was ten sounds sweet and romantic nope just friends then you add in adolescent hormones her sister his brother and it all goes badly.Jagger has secrets he loves someone has for a long time and then fate gives him a second chance to try again for the girl that got away. All because he messed up. He may be immature even at the age of 30 but hes good looking yes conceited but he uses it as a coping mechanism but hes really funny and a good guy.Magnolia she's in need of a job has a new prospect and her dating life is awful and her sex life well Butterflies probably have more bedroom time then she dose. And that guy in apartment 5 just wont leave her alone what's with all the naughty notes. And when I find out who he is I'm furious embaresed and I just want him to leave me alone but Jagger he's not willing to leave the past alone or her how am I going to resist the first guy I ever loved the guy I thought I was over and after a night with her friends she decided to confront Jagger and well some stuff happens and that's all I'm going to say. This is a good read the blurb was what hooked me and once I started reading I couldn't put it down.I was allowed to read and advance copy of this book but I also purchased a copy for myself. And this is my honest review.

Loved this story from beginning to end; just enough steam…
What a cleverly written story! It starts out with notes back and forth from occupants of apartments #4 and #5. They get progressively funny and a tad bit flirty. Magnolia Allen has enough on her plate what with a new job, rent being due soon, not enough money to pay it and not having had s** for 450 days and counting…But the heat level goes up quite a few notches when Magnolia meets her new neighbor, none other than a former friend from back home in New York, Kingston Jagger Scott! And, boy when we find out WHY she’s so upset about her new neighbor, things go from warm to hot, hot, HOT.So much to love about this story: the dedication by the author to her dog; the humor and playfulness among all the characters; the caring they all seem to display for each other; and lastly when he pours out his heart and all is revealed. After his revelation Ms. Cooper could have added more unnecessary angst but she chose the wise choice. She let the characters accept and forgive. I especially love when Magnolia remembers all the times that Jagger showed her kindness and sweetness when they were growing up. The ending is wonderful too. Now I can’t wait for Tate’s story.I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and it comes highly recommended for readers who like cleverly written, fast-paced romantic comedy with the sweetest ending.

5 Stars
Great book. Love the characters. I had some issues with it but in all it is a very good book. The story line is good. I felt that for 28 and 30 year olds that Jagger and Magnolia were kind of immature. But it was still a great read. And entertaining.

Absolute blast to read!
This book made me so happy. It was funny and charming and completely realistic. The conversations between the girls trying to find a way to get what they want and the advice they give Magnolia were completely realistic! Trying out one thing, then abandoning it for another...yes we women do this! I loved this book and it was perfect to help with my Coronavirus blues.

Hilarious & Hot
To the Rude guy In Apartment Five is a really hilarious - and hot-t-t - second-chance romance by J.S. Cooper. Magnolia is the post-college, determined to make it girl/young adult I know I wish I had been at that age, and Jagger is the annoying older next-door neighbor who turns out to be even more. While there were a couple of scenes and "twists" that I could sort of predict (and when you read A LOT, like I do, it becomes hard to be surprised by EVERYTHING), there were enough surprises that kept the story from being too much of the "same old". It was really well written, and the characters just pull you in, hoping that Magnolia will haul off and slug the Rude Guy, but then feeling like you want to have your OWN Rude Guy (in those hot-t-t scenes :)Definitely read this one!

To the rude giy in apartment five
OMG! Holy Smoke!! This book is so hot & hilarious. I read this book whilst in isolation from the Coronavirus and this truely is amazing I couldn't put it down I read this in 1 day. I would definitely recommend this and give it a 5🌟 rating!Magnolia Allen & Kingston Jagger Scott have such a twisted complicated history that when Jagger moves in next door to Magnolia that is where the fun starts. For weeks they don't meet in person they only communicate by leaving notes on each others doors each one getting funnier & flirtier than the last. At the start you can't help but think that as hot as Jagger is he is sooo arrogant. Which then comes down to just scorching hot panty melting moments! But can Magnolia put all the past and present problems behind her and forgive Jagger?I can't wait to read Jane & Tate's story as you can tell that is going to be so hot!The audio version of this story is just as hot 🔥

OMG, I absolutely loved this book. Jagger is the perfect book boyfriend and you fall for him before you even get to find out who he is. The notes are so funny, you will definitely be having a giggle. I have just purchased book 2 and cannot wait to read it too. I definitely recommend reading this book!

An amusing romantic tale.
I enjoyed reading this slightly quirky story. I’m not going to discuss the plot because that would be difficult to do without ‘spoilers’. Suffice to say that as the story unfolds, it becomes more complex than you would initially expect but it’s written with wit and style.

A good read
First time read of this author, I enjoyed the storyline, it was more of an all will be revealed book. I thought Jagger was a bit of an idiot with the notes at first, but things improved further into the book. So going to read Tate’s story next, book 2.

Banter with flirty notes
I really enjoyed reading this book. The notes between Apartment 4 and Apartment 5 were funny, flirty and full of banter. Magnolia is trying to make a new start in San Francisco and is ready to start a new job. Jagger has just moved into Apartment 5 and receives a note from Apartment 4. It takes a while before they meet face to face and Magnolia realises that 'the rude guy in apartment 5' is Jagger aka Kingston who she was in love with over 10 years ago., she lives in Apartment 4.
