CherryMX Blue Switch Standard Corded Keyboard - 104 Keys (G80-3000LSCEU-2)

Keyboard was shipped by Amazon Fulfillment Services and arrived in a flimsy, less than 2-1/2 in tall keyboard box. In transit it looks like heavy boxes were stacked on top of the box. Amazon needs to do better than to ship a $94 keyboard like this.Now for the product review.I've been using this Cherry G80-3000LSCEU-2 standard keyboard with blue switches for the last 4 hours and I love it! I'm a medical transcriptionist (31 years) and have been through many keyboards, looking to find a keyboard to replace my favorite clicky style from the 80's. This is really close to my old favorite! I have arthritic hands and typing has become painful and riddled with typos. I'm never 100% sure anymore that I'm hitting the keys hard enough to register a stroke. The click and rebound of the keys on this keyboard and the response of the keyboard in general is making fast typing much more enjoyable and easier for my hands, with a lot less typos. Providing the keyboard holds up for a year or two, I would buy another!

Was loud and felt cheap. Unlike the other Cherry Keyboards we've used. Returned.

I use 2 Cherry G80-3000 keyboards and a Varmilo bluetooth keyboard that have Cherry MX Blue switches. I like the Cherry G80's the most with their crisp and smooth switch action. The Varmilo is crap.The snappy, crisp sound from the G80 switches make long typing sessions more enjoyable and without any hand strain.Some cheaper mechanical keyboards I have with clone MX blue keyswitches are almost the same feeling, without the crisp sound.Would buy again.

The Cherry G80 is not a cheap buy even for a mechanical keyboard. However, I believe that it is absolutely worth the money at twice the price. I bought one of these keyboards about 3 years ago. As both a writer and a gamer, I find it ideal for my purposes despite the somewhat dated design. What the Cherry lacks in stylistic panache, indicator lights and function/multimedia keys it more than makes up for in performance and reliability in core typing duties such as word processing, 10-key entry, and WASD gaming.This keyboard is quite forgiving ergonomically despite its old-school design. I have somewhat sensitive wrists from a job with a bad ergo setup a few years back and this board treats them well when paired with a wrist rest (I don't use the feet, but they are nice and sturdy for those who like keyboard feet).The G80 also has the "spit and polish" lacking on cheaper boards. The cord is nice and sturdy and doesn't kink. The lettering on the keys is extremely durable; most gamers will have experienced obvious wear on the WASD array but my keys have nary a whit of fading after years of heavy use for that purpose. Even the plastic is top-notch: aside from dust, mine shows NO signs of wear and tear whatsoever. Not even the usual smoothed-out spacebar.The noise level is obviously higher than that produced by membrane keyboards and renders it somewhat "NSFW". My girlfriend has taken to calling out "clackity clack" every time she hears me typing while I'm on the phone with her. However, this is par for the course for mechanical keyboards so I feel no need to ding a star for it.All in all, I absolutely swear by my Cherry. If only I could have one at my day job too...

There is no Mark on F and G , which makes it very hard to place your fingers while typing. Other than that, it does ok for an mechanical keyboard.

For me. This keyboard has been very (very) disappointing. It's a piece of junk compared to my 20 year old Quickfire. The case is flimsy and lightweight. The MX Blue keys feel fine.The problems:1. On computer power-up, the keyboard lights blink (showing that it has USB power, and the internal processor is working), but then goes dead. Power on Self-Test on the computer reports "No Keyboard".2. It's obsolete!3. Support from the manufacturer in Germany is minimal. No current software (WIndows 8 is the last version!), no drivers (just in case), no firmware (just in case).Very disappointing!

I was really hoping to like this keyboard. I love the Cherry MX Blue switches in the Das Keyboard, but it has some ergonomic issues and this one made by Cherry looked like a more standard design. As soon as I opened it I could tell the difference in quality - it is made of very lightweight plastic and flexes in a way the Das (or older Apple and IBM) keyboards don't. Plus, the action on the keys is noticeably less crisp than on the Das, which seems odd since they are supposed to have the same switches. Sending it back.
