Traditional Witchcraft
As a witch for over 30 years I have read most books on the subject and find them quite repetitive and diluted in their methods of witchcraft. This book contains the knowledge I learnt from the 90s being in a coven. I am quite old fashioned in my practice and not really interested in the new modern way as I find it quite diluted. If it is the old ways you wish to learn then this is the book for you. Trad Witch.

Practical ideas for every dark venture
This book was like a breath of cool air across a tombstone, rejuvenating my tired practice with grounded wisdom and simple but powerful workings with a deep respect for the dark moon current.I especially loved the shadow side of each element, something I'd always sought but hadn't found a good framework for. This book is perfect for the practitioner who prefers the gristle of the craft; witches who aren't afraid of getting muddy and bloody. Bones and flesh are used in reverence, not for shock value as some authors attempt.Anchoring dark moon energy into your practice is a joy with Freuller as your guide. She brings intelligence and wisdom to an area of the craft usually portayed with OTT theatrics. Night workings are the backbone of an effective witch's practice and Llewellyn has published a dark gem at last!

What an amazing book!! If you feel a bit grossed out by bones, blood, human fluids this isn't for you. Also talks about ethics in witchcraft! Lovely book!!

Shadow Work Is Not Magical Practice
Though there are things I really like about this book and it has a lot of interesting information it also has some false information. Shadow work is not magical practice, it has never been magical practice! Shadow work is a psychological tool and it is borderline dangerous to claim it is magical practice. For some people who have deep rooted trauma shadow work should only be done as an aside to therapy. And nothing in the book is shadow work. It’s all either magic relating to the dark moon or generic magical practice utilising things a lot of people don’t speak about like bodily fluids and skulls. But it’s not shadow work. Because once again for those in the back shadow work is not a magical practice. For someone who has been practicing witchcraft for 25 years to blatantly say shadow work is magical practice is unethical. I love that she mentions bones, and things that aren’t normally discussed but the shadow work thing is such a real let down to what otherwise would be a decent book.
