Sennelier China Ink, 500 ml, Black

This was perfect for my project -- I needed ink to use on real parchment and the parchment seller recommended this ink for it. It didn't smear, which is what I was concerned about, and the deepness of the black color was very rich.

The best of inks

Got this big 500ml jar of ink, and it was a washed out gray, not black. Upon further inspection the pigment had coagulated in a huge clump. Not sure if I got an old batch or what, but even breaking the pigment apart didn't work, it still just left this ink unusable for any black fine line work. I'll have to use it for gritty and dirty drawings.

This is the best ink I have ever used. It is very black and stands up very well against water. A little goes a long way. I've been using (frequently) this same bottle for over a year and it still seems quite full. Very good, professional grade ink. It even smells good. Where other inks smell chemically and like ammonia this ink has a natural scent almost like vanilla.
