The Vitis labrusca Isabella is the famous Strawberry tasting grape. It is also known as the Fragollino which is a cross between the Vitis vinifera and the coldest tolerant grape vine – the Vitis labrusca Concord. The vine originates from Eastern North-America. Lovely small, sweet scented, yellow flowers and pink new shoots appear during the summer months (May-June). If the climber is positioned in against a south facing wall in a hot position, receives the appropriate growing conditions and is ripened, large bunches of dark purple skinned grapes with a yellow-green flesh will appear. The grapes are edible; they have a musky aroma but a sweet taste, used to make wine. It is a fully hardy plant and can withstand temperatures as low as -20c.

Not very big
I received my plant a few weeeks ago and was pretty disappointed with the size of it. I kept it watered inside until the frosts have abated and have now planted it outside. As yet still no leaves on it and it's looking rather twig like. Fingers crossed it might spring into life soom.
