It’s in good condition!
No rips or anything. The only thing is it’s dirty but that’s not something that bothers me. Saved me $100!

Good use of visual information aids, well written, includes recent, interesting cases
This is a well organized book that isn't too heavy or difficult to carry. It's got a lot of good visual information inserts like colored graphs and charts. One element I really like is the maps of the US showing where certain things are law and where they aren't. It's consistently used with different information presented and it is very easy to understand. The text is well written and easy to understand, and it includes a lot of really interesting, high profile cases like the Aurora theater shooting and Sandy Hook. Students should find it very engaging and conducive to deeper thought and discussion.

College-level intro to criminal justice, well-written utilizing contemporary cases.
Not a law school text, but more for college-level introductory criminal justice courses, the prose is straight-forward and explorational. There is ample discussion provided, such as the pros and cons of various concepts, and some of the history as to how we got where we are now. Much is drawn from recent cases likely to be familiar to the student from contemporary press sources. Those not enrolled in coursework and who don't have any criminal justice background will find this a useful introductory text, even without a concurrent course.

As texts go, this seems to be a good one.
As texts go, this seems to be a good one. But reading it reminded me, yet again, of why I prefer to find shorter and primary sources for teaching, and make only minimal use of textbooks.

Criminal justice text
This is a good lower-level college textbook on criminal justice. It covers all of the basics in clear detail. This could even be used for a high school law or criminal justice class. It's not all that visually appealing, but it's decent. There are a lot of nice features, like case studies and pro/con debates. Easy focus on vocabulary throughout the text as well.

Instant Classic
Dr. Mallicoat's text is comprehensive and erudite. This work brilliantly progresses from foundations through law (policing) and order (the courts). Or is it law (the courts) and order (policing)? Along the road Dr. Mallicoat covers psychology, sociology, retribution, correction and community. Attractive presentation, beautifully written, engagingly presented. What better text could any professor want when teaching the material?
