Hasn't been on the vehicle long enough for me to evaluate completely yet. So far so good.

I have received my starter shield and installed it. It was a slight challenge to get the wrap in place but I did. My vehicle has a set of exhaust headers on it, and one of the pipes almost touches the starter motor. I've wrapped that pipe with insulating wrap and now my starter with the new shield wrap. I think the starter motor is well protected now, and that's exactly what I wanted.

I bought one for my steering linkage as the boot was directly touching my headers and it stopped the burning of the boot immediately.I also have one on the starter too. Which i cant tell you if it did good or bad other than its there…

Its probably longer than what most starters need and you can easility trim it. MY only question is longevity of the unfinished edge now that its cut. Also they should have ran velcro along the whole length of it. But it works and fixed the issues, better than some paper type stuff out there.

The heat shield took about 5 minutes to install which included cutting it about 6 inches shorter for a neater fit. It's aluminized fabric with a velcro closure system which makes it capable of fitting alnost any starter. The outside is reflective while the inside is non conductive fabric.

The heat shield barrier worked OK but I had to cut it to fit. Once I did that it seemed to be OK. I used the steel straps to fasten it and that helped secure it in place. Good value for money.
