THESE are the best filters I have ever used!
I have used a TON of different brands of filters over the years with this humidifier. None of the others hold a candle to how well these work. They have a thin aluminum ring layer in the middle, giving it a firmness. This filter is the only one I've ever used that actually gets wet all the way to the top CONSISTENTLY. No dry spots to be found, even after the water runs out and it shuts off. They fit perfectly and consume the greatest amount of water (read: high evaporation/efficiency) of any filter I've ever tried. Not available Prime, but the seller shipped very fast and I had it in about 4 days. For the quality and value, they were well worth the wait!

Better than the brand-name filters
Cheaper and more durable than the OEM filters. The metal mesh inside ensures they hold their shape, and the outer fabric is very durable. The six pack can last you for two years if you maintain them well.We have moderately hard water (15-20 grains), and even with a softener, the filter forms crusty nodules on the outside after a couple of weeks, so we alternate between two filters. Moisture output drops noticeably (i.e. the tanks empty more slowly) as the filter clogs up with mineral salts. We run our humidifier 24/7.The filters can be cleaned in the kitchen sink (sanitize it first!) with a hot water rinse and 30 min warm water soak. Lay it flat in the sink to reduce water usage. Add 2-4 tbsp citric acid powder to help dissolve stubborn hard water crust/stains. Rinse thoroughly with cold water. They come out almost as good as new. You can clean them this way several times before dust doesn't wash out anymore and the paper mesh begins to fall apart.Don't forget to clean the base of your humidifier, too. It can also accumulate hard water and dusty gunk over time. Use an air duster to blast dust out of the fan unit.

Money Saver - Works Great
This is a great filter replacement at a fairly good price. There are a few tips that I will share to make this a good purchase.1) When I first installed this filter, I found the product to be of high quality. There is a foil mesh liner that provides good support to the filter, just like the popular brand. The main filter material seems to be of the same quality as the popular brand as well. This filter also has a outer fabric, which I guess is to provide better wicking properties. The problem with this outer fabric is that it restricts air flow, which slows in the evaporation rate.2) Improve the evaporation rate by cutting away part of the outer fabric. You can see in my photo, after using this filter for a couple of weeks, I let it dry out and then I cut away 50% of the outer fabric. With a little care, you can slowly pull away part of the outer fabric and cut it off. I removed two sections, leaving behind about half of the original material. The evaporation rate is now what I had with the name brand filter. I have always made it a habit to flip my filters over two times a day to improve the wicking properties-did this even with the name brand. Doing this you will likely give it a 5 star review.3) I have been using a additive to my water to prevent mold build up, also did this with the name brand filters. BestAir Humidifier Bacteriostatic is what I have been using for several years and it work great. I got it from my local Ace hardware store for $6.99 and one bottle will likely last you a couple of seasons. Support your local hardware store and buy it there, plus it was cheaper than getting it on-line. I also use a old pump soap bottle when I add the liquid, and I figured it take me two or three pumps to get just the right amount. Test out what amount you need and you will find this method to be clean and simple.FINALLY - Yes I will purchase this item again...using the water additive, three filters will likely get me through the winter in my area. Hope this helps!

A DECENT PRICE FOR A PAPER FILTER/WICK
Using a Honeywell Quietcare - 2 tank humidifier, these replacements d an adequate job for the dollars spent. By comparison to other's tried, they do not tend to last as long with mineral build-up causing the need to replace within about 3-4 weeks max when your furnace is running a lot in cold Winter (IF you want to maintain about 40% humidity or above). Very easy to change out so the need for more frequent changes is easily outweighed by the lower cost. BTW, I DO use filtered water and also add a mix of anti-bacterial and anti-mineral build up fluids. When new, these wicks will allow me to put around 5 gallon's of water into the air in a +/- 20 hour timeframe ... after about 2 weeks, I note that about half the filter/wick stays dry and hardened by buildup of deposits. Just an "aside", these do appear to also do a decent job of air cleaning as well

Back in humidifying business!
Reasonable price, and works like a champ! My original Honeywell air humidifier filter did a good job, but was I shocked when it came time to replace it! I just couldn't see myself paying that much every time I needed a new air filter. My style is to buy a stock of filters to keep on hand for quick change out, but using Honeywell's filter, that was going to get expensive quick. It took awhile to find this one. My humidifier stayed in the closet through 1 whole season and part of the next. But, with cold Winters and electric heat, I had to do something. After a short visit to Amazon, I found this one, which by-the-way was a lot like the stock air humidifier filter in a cheaper unit I had before the Honeywell. Now, I don't cringe at the thought of replacing the in-service crusted up and yellow wick filter. I just do it!

Not a good replacement.
These do not compare at all to the original Honeywell wicking filters. They do not last very long at all and do not put very much humidity into the air.. When I went back to the Honeywell filters the humidity level immediately started to go up and in a couple of days we were back to the level that we wanted. These do not do the job and you need to change them far too often to make them of any value over the originals. As I have learned in the past, cheaper is generally not better. And costs more in the long run.
