My child found this book very helpful. He has definitely improved a lot. Highly recommended.

While this book is missing some math needed for the GMAT, it is perfect to get you back in the swing of things if you are rusty or been away from it for a while. The website access is great and I enjoyed learning from this book. You will need to do more math after this book, but it's a great start, especially when the GMAT is based on strategy, knowing rules and how to identify them fast. You can only get this from truly understanding the basics. I am glad I spent the time on this book than pulling my hair out and wasting time in more advanced books too soon.

Overall, this is an extremely good resource for reviewing the GMAT quant methods, which will end up tripping you up, even if you know some of the harder concepts. If, like me, you needed more background and importantly PRACTICE in applying these methods, then this book will be very helpful for you as it is full of exercises to bring the point home.I have been working with the kindle version, in which the formatting from page to page can be awkward and also some powers look like normal numbers, though most of them seem fine. This has not taken away from the value I take from the book but it's annoying so be prepared. Also, using the kindle version, when you look at the answer sheets for exercises, use the location feature to get back to the question page as the scrolling becomes extremely tedious very quickly otherwise.

Great book. Each chapter has questions all the way through to test your knowledge with detailed answers and explanations at the end of each chapter as well as more drills to test you at the end! Their explanations are so good, I've been able to work through these on my own. If you've not done maths for a while or you're not as confident in your maths skills in your GMAT prep, I'd highly recommend.

Fantastic book. Been using others to prepare and this is by far the most useful/clear. Highly recommend, if like me, you need to brush up on core maths skills before you can really make progress in the Math section of the GMAT.

It's a good book. It certainly helps with all of the things we learnt at school but need to brush up on! 4 star because I prefer the Kaplan Range, I think they're slightly better, but this book seemed to be the best option to recap on the foundations of maths.

Good basics, with some advanced concepts and testing strategies. Blocked out study information. Practice problems.Of course the basics quickly lead into the GMAT convoluted reasoning format.

O que mais me chamou atenção nesse livro é de que a partir de conceitos mais complexos, podemos ver que a matemática ensinada nos EUA difere da nossa. Seria bom se os professores de matemática fundamental soubessem nova formas de ensiná-la. Talvez fizesse diferença.

I want to preface the review by saying I was not a great math student. If you were great at high school math I don't think this book will have much to offer besides some tidbits about GMAT strategies. I personally felt I learned more from this book that I did in high school; I wasn't as bored and I liked the answer explanation section.For those complaining about the access code there is no physical code in the book itself. After you purchase your amazon email will receive a log in from Manhattan Prep. I didn't realize it was for this book. Manhattan Prep is also offering a free basics of math courses this summer. I signed up for it and assumed that was how they got my email. Looking through the account its actually for this book. I assume if you continue to buy their products that is how you receive all your access code (it was a common compliant for all their books).

A decent book for someone starting on studying for GMAT, go through all the chapters thoroughly even if you think you know the topic it is good to revise.

Vorab: Dieses Buch ist genial! Nicht nur für den GMAT.Ich habe mir das Buch gekauft um mir die Grundlagen der in der Mittelstufe vermittelten Mathematik wieder anzueignen. Die Schulzeit ist bei mir schon ein paar Jahre her und nach einem erfolgreich abgeschlossenem Bachelor in Accounting & Taxation möchte ich nun einen Finance Master machen. Für die Programme an renommierten Universitäten wird fast immer der GMAT gefordert. Bei der Vorbereitung habe ich schnell gemerkt, dass es oftmals an den Grundlagen scheitert. Diese werden in diesem Buch genial in kleinen Schritten anhand von Beispielen und mit vielen Übungsaufgaben erläutert. Der Schwierigkeitsgrad von vielen Aufgaben ist eher mäßig aber das sind die Aufgaben im GMAT teilweise auch. Das schwierige ist die Aufgaben in nur 2 Minuten lösen zu können. Dafür müssen mathematische Grundlagen im Schlaf sitzen und genau darauf zielt das Übungsbuch ab. Basics werden vertieft und teilweise Tricks vermittelt, für dich ich in der Schule sehr dankbar gewesen wäre. Nach den Drill-Sets hat man den kompletten Stoff verinnerlicht und ist sicher in der Anwendung.Für Menschen die wie ich die Grundlagen wiederholen/festigen wollen genial. Wer die Grundlagen sicher beherrscht wird sich größtenteils unterfordert fühlen. Für die GMAT-Vorbereitung insgesamt uneingeschränkt zu empfehlen. Habe ca. 2 Wochen gebraucht um das Buch vollständig durchzuarbeiten.Das Buch ist inbesondere auch für Eltern geeignet, die ihren Kindern Mittelstufenstoff erklären wollen. Die Herangehensweise ist in diesem Buch m.E. weitaus verständlicher als in vielen Schulbüchern.
