Large bin
Lovely colour, strong and stylish. I like the fact the bin is works with batteries saves me touching the bin. The closing lid closes is at a decent time. So I can scarp all the waste into the bin. When the batteries are running our the lid will not open. Or the bin lid will tay openLarge enough to last the week, so I do not have to change the bin every two or three days.Tip: When the bin is full try not pull the black bag out straight away, move the black bag from side to side and the black bag will come out slowly without ripping.

We are happy with this product, it works fine, it's been few months since we bought it. infact I am quite surprised that it is still working fine, though it is made in China

I love this bin. Looks good and works well. It's great hands free and closes by itself as well.

Sensor controller intermittent as the lid stays open, otherwise it is a good bin
The bin arrived last week and initially worked fine, but then started to misbehave. It will open and sometimes the lid will stay open and not automatically close as it should. Normally the LED array counts down to closing but when it goes wrong all of the LEDs stay lit and the lid stays open. I wanted to contact the manufacturer to ask if there is a fix but cannot find how to do this on Amazon's site apart from having to return it, which I do not want to do. If anyone knows of a fix, please let me know.It nothing to do with the batteries, which I am pleased are 4 x AA and not the C or D types as used in others, nor is it anything to do with ambient light or kitchen lights or IR reflections from elsewhere.Other than this intermittent problem it is a good and economically priced bin.

Better BATTERY compartment design. Buy this one.
Just to say, I've owned two sensor bins over the last few years (this is the 3rd). They others died because kitchen scraps are moist and corrode the batteries. This bin has the batteries in a holder at the rear and NOTHING that can be corroded on the bottom (such as an on off switch). So, I don't know yet if this bin will last longer but I am optimistic that it will. In any case, it is definitely a better design than ones with the battery compartments on the bottomUPDATE Feb 23 - bin is now 11 months old ... and opening and closing by itself continuously. I've fixed it by airing the battery compartment but this fix does not seem to last. I think the issue is moisture. I'm not sure what I will do but I won't buy another sensor bin. They just don't last. I will go with a pedal bin next.

Nice design but faulty!
The media could not be loaded. Purchased 2 of these bins in the round 42 litre. Both faulty. One would open then instantly shut on my hand mid empty...the other simply wouldn't open at all as you can see form the video regardless of how many different batteries I tried!Such a shame because the fact that the hinge is covered was the reason I bought them because my previous sensor bins always rotted from the hinge and this is what caused them all to fail eventually.I also really liked that the battery compartment was somewhat separate and not on the underneath of the lid because in the past I've had issues with batteries falling out of their own accord and I'd have to always sellotape the battery compartment to keep it from emptying.I'm surprised that we can land on the moon but we cannot yet build a decent sensor bin?! Unfathomable!

A pleasant surprise for the price
It's a nice bin, good price, looks neat and compact and fits easily in a corner under our breakfast bar. One of the best things about it is that, unlike our (more expensive) last touch-sensor kitchen bin, it just takes "normal" AA batteries. These fit snugly into a little carrier cartridge thing at back of the lid, making it easy to fit the batteries to be changed when it comes to it (haven't yet needed to, though.) One thing I'd say is that the sensor is super-sensitive; it sits by the kitchen back door and when that is open, it reacts to the slightest breeze by opening and shutting the lid all the time (!), until we moved the bin away slightly. I like the fact that the lights on the lid "count down" from four to none to let you know when it's about to close (if you're sad enough to watch) - a nice little touch ;)
