Wonderful Purchase for Advanced Tarot Readers
This deck is for professional tarot readers. I would not suggest that a beginner should even think of handling this deck. The cards has vibrant ritualistic energy. We all know, how harshly we have treated our first decks, sometimes we forget to exit ir charge. This deck has esoteric background, kabbalah meanings and indeed respected Loa. It is not at all a deck I desire to use at parties for a quick reading. It is for meditation. The meanings may seem like that of RWS but yet it is different in some ways. The danger of misusing the deck for something you don't know may exist. Having said that, this deck is miracle for readers like us, who have altar to preserve it safely, just like Egyptian Deck is protected by us. Anyways,it is your wish. It is one of the best deck for meditation. Respect the spirits, loa and they shall bless you.

Wonderful
Now, this is way more than a tarot deck. I didn't realise when I bought this for my collection that I was going to embark in a cultural journey which is rich and fascinating. It comes with a nice thick book in English only, 280 rich pages, which not only explains the cards, but gives a good first person account of the whole Voodoo world aligning it all nicely with the Western Occult traditions like Rider-Waite, Thoth, Golden Dawn and the Kabbalah, Tree of Life and the links with institutionalized religion systems and the Hebrew alphabet, it also provides a geopolitical perspective and a societal analysis of sorts. So, in my opinion this is a great new perspective to acquire and beginning to appreciate. The card stock could have been better, book really cool. Also, this deck has an extra card, the so called wild card which belongs with the major arcana, after XXI.There are no usual tarot seeds like wands, swords, cups and coins.... So it will take a while to familiarise. As well as the major arcana they are numbered to follow the RWS/ Thoth meanings, but again, their names are completely different. When you cross reference the book you will find that each card has a Thoth and a RWS along with the Tree of Life Kabbalistic meaning and reference with the Hebrew letters and much more, so it isn't something thrown in just for the sake of it, but a true paradigm that has its own life and this will all make sense. In all, an excellent buy. Great.

Very powerful
If you are looking for yourself and your place in the universe, this deck will help you. It's very straight to the point, accurate and insightful. It knows what you're thinking.I would say not to take their voodoo instructions too seriously unless you know what you're doing or are intitated

Awesome
This is one of my favourite decks. Very different. I read really well with it and absolutely love the art work. Card stock is great. This is one of the few decks, probably the only deck where the white borders don't bother me. The book is fantastic. It's a great read with a lot to learn and sink into a different culture. What does bother me however is that the cards don't come in their own box, meaning I'll either have to make my own (which I did) or keep that massive thing they came in. It's a common issue. Annoying none the less. I work with my decks. I use them and they're on my table. I don't want to have a massive box on my table. I also think that those boxes take away from the magic. But that's my personal opinion.

My Favourite Deck
I absolutely love this deck and book. It is not a conventional tarot and personally i do not use it as such, but that is my own personal limitation, there is no reason not to use it for normal readings.I am not ready to share this deck yet and prefer to use it as a learning tool. It is wonderful in this role as there is no need to plan learning. The use of the cards allows you to be guided in learning and the book opens up the understanding of the cards. Excellent starter for the student of Voodoo or Santeria. But if used as a regular tarot I would not recommend it for a beginner unless already familiar with the subject.

African-Spirituality Tarot
Yeah the authors have gone to great lengths to incorporate Qabalah and African Spiritual systesms ala IFA (Yoruba), Santeria, Haitian and Kongo based deities, spirits. It does take these traditions to a whole new level. As an aside it would help one alot if you have had well grounded introductions into these mysteries, but even a complete new comer would still find plenty of gems digging around the book and of course the Tarot cards. Superb work Sallie & Martinez!!
