Well-written account of one of the most influential white collar labor actions in history
I enjoyed reading this book from cover to cover. Tom is an excellent story teller. This is a great snapshot of first-hand experience in one of the most influential actions by a white collar labor union in history. To think a global aerospace giant was literally stopped in its tracks by the brave actions taken by the engineers and technical workers in Washington, Oregon, and Utah. What a story!

Are you considering forming a Union? You must read this book.
I am a member of SPEEA and this book is a wonderful history of the 2000 strike. It tells the story of why the strike happened and how it evolved from a very active member's point of view. This shows what a labor union can be. Nobody ever thought Boeing Engineers would go on strike and they did. Great book

Want to know what it feels like to be on a picket line?
Want to know what it feels like to be on a picket line? Tom McCarty's personal voice comes through every page. As a member of the negotiation team during SPEEA's 40 day strike his book is full of stories from each day of his experiences. Reading his book feels like having a personal conversation over a cup of coffee.

Fascinating view of a white-collar labor strike
I highly recommend this book for those interested in a personal perspective of a historic white-collar labor strike. Reading it feels like you’re sitting down with Tom over coffee. His story gives a glimpse into how aerospace engineers and technical workers in multiple states had the heart and stamina to “stay out as long as it takes.”
