Great play right out of the box! Yes, the tiles are small - making it easier to travel with - but the tiles are very clearly readable. For those who may be wondering, this set does not include: scoring cards, a mat, scoring coins, or pushers.

If you’re wondering “should I get these, or spend $400 on one of those fancy schmancy popular travel sets?”. GET THESE! They are SO cute and tiny but chunky! They are engraved, painted, and just perfect. We appreciate the little racks because you can hold them in your hand OR set them on table, and they stand up. But the rack is roomy enough that you can slide the tiles around and rearrange them. Be savvy and spend your remaining $350 on other things you want!

This is a great set if you are planning to travel with it. Everything packs up nicely inside the carrying case. It's also a great value for the money, especially if you are just learning and don't want to spend an arm and a leg on your first set. My only complaint is, because it's a travel size and the tiles are small, none of the tiles have numbers on them. This makes it extremely difficult for beginners who are just learning the game to differentiate what's what. As we learned, we often had to consult the user's manual to figure out what characters equaled what number. This instruction manual also had some errors, and the images in the manual didn't always match up to the tiles themselves. We eventually consulted online instructions to ensure we were learning the game properly, as the manual left some important information out. Although the included manual needs some updating, especially if you are just learning the game, the set overall is a great value for the price, and makes it easy to take this fun game with you on the go!

Excellent! Great small size and case for travel. It does have two levels so be sure and look below the top tiles. It does have Chinese character tiles for 1-9. The flower tiles are a bit different than the ones in my class but will work. Also one of my tiles was reversed so it looked blank but was fine.

These mini maj tiles are a perfect set for American mah Jong. I bought specifically to play at the beach. I love the tile holders because i can hold it in my hand and they stay in the rack. This was my final differentiator from other sets. Good price. Quality. I dumped them into a pouch so it’s easier to clean up and carry. Would def recommend

It is a good size and weight for travel, but the tiles do eventually get dirty and the images / numbers are not super clear. Not sure if it can be cleaned. Still, we take it on trips and it accomplishes what we need.

After reading the negative reviews, I took a chance on buying this set to bring with me on my trips and am very pleased with the product. I took many of the negative reviews with a grain of salt as comments about small size and missing numbers was counter to what is seen in the product images. Measurements were included in the product description so shame on those who didn't see this information in the write-up. Yes it is small but THAT is the point of the travel set. I'm looking forward to trying it out on my upcoming cruise.

I bought this set to use during an overseas deployment and was impressed. There were a couple drawbacks, one being that there are no English numbers or letters on the tiles (except for the flowers, which weren't really necessary), which makes playing the game with people who don't know Chinese numbers and compass directions (i.e. everyone) more difficult. Also, the tiles are very small and hard to read for those with bad eyesight, but what do you expect from a travel set? The set is very well made and nice looking. The rule book that comes with it doesn't describe scoring very well, or breaking the wall, so I recommend buying a book separately if you're just learning, but otherwise its helpful. Overall a bargain at $20 and worth having.
