WORKS FINE FOR ME!
I just received 2 of these remote control replacement units for my Zenith set-top digital-to-analog converter box. Shipping was a tad slow, but I reckon not unreasonable for the Holiday season. I originally purchased the Zenith box in 2008 when the FCC was subsidizing the cost of the changeover from analog to digital TV. That process was completed this year (2015). Beginning January 2016 even low-power stations will be broadcasting all-digital signals, & the analog bypass switches on certain brands of set-top boxes like the Zenith will become useless in the USA. While the Zenith converter box itself was nicely made & still works great, the original Zenith remote was rather flimsy. Over the years I wore off the lettering from about half the buttons, & the buttons themselves began responding sluggishly or not at all. I discovered my worn unit worked better if it was warmed up first by the heat of my hands, but during the first few moments I couldn't change channels or anything. I was annoyed by that & one day got the brilliant idea to place the remote in an electric blanket turned on High. Big mistake. Melted the housing on the Zenith remote & made it harder to use than ever, so a replacement was mandatory. Replacement remotes for the Zenith boxes are offered by several vendors, & other reviewers have complained how cheapie & flimsy the remote control is. Those people should be reminded that the ORIGINAL remote was a cheap piece of junk to start with, so these replacements are no worse than the originals. In one aspect, these replacement remotes are BETTER than the originals. The markings on them are stamped in bright white lettering, a nice touch for folks like me whose vision is not the best. The lettering on the originals was marked in grey on a black background, a poor choice of colors for optimum contrast & visibility. Other people have complained these remotes did not allow them to turn their TV on/off. I never did use my original remote for that purpose, since it didn't work with the old Emerson CRT TV I had at that time. I've since upgraded to a 37" Polaroid flatscreen TV, & the Zenith remote didn't work for that one either. People should be reminded that the original Zenith user manual (yes, I still have mine & I actually did read it) warns the user that control codes don't exist for every TV make/model, & that the remote will not necessarily work universally for all TV's. For those people who successfully used the original to control their TV & now find themselves unable to do so with the replacement, I can only guess the replacement units probably don't possess that particular feature. But considering as how you effectively can't use the converter box AT ALL without a remote control, a remote without TV control is far preferable to no remote at all (which was my situation). I have all my video components plugged into an AC-filtered power strip, so I turn most of my components on/off manually using the main switch on the power strip. (A few components, such as the Zenith converter box & my combo DVD/VCR machine, contain programming that gets erased if power is shut off, so I keep those plugged into separate sockets that stay on all the time.) I've gotten used to controlling my video components using the power strip switch, so even if a code existed to control my TV from the Zenith remote I wouldn't use it. So far all the buttons on this replacement remote are the exact same size & shape & in the exact same locations as the original remote, so the changeover was seamless. The only difference between this remote & the Zenith original is that the replacement requires 2 AAA batteries, while the original required only one. Not a problem for me. (I use alkaline batteries which last for years; these remotes consume very little power.) Now I have new remote that works just like the original, the buttons respond well, the features & commands I use are all the same, & best of all I don't have to warm it up before I use it! For $15 & free Amazon shipping, that's good enough for me. The only question is how long will it last? Considering as how these things are assembled with spit & tinfoil, & that I seem to beat them to death, I ordered 2 of them while the gittin' was good. I'll update this review in the future if anything unusual happens. No news will be good news.*** UPDATE *** March 2017. I'm still using the same replacement remote I first reviewed in Dec. 2015. I see it's still being sold, & now there is a wide variety of reviews including some that are highly negative. My unit has been heavily used & even abused, having been dropped on the floor MANY times. The only attention I've had to pay to it is battery replacement. There is virtually no wear on any of the rubbery buttons, even though the plastic around the most-used buttons is now beginning to exhibit notable signs of wear. I notice most of the negative reviews seem to involve cases of "crib death", where the unit is either DOA or fails shortly after commencement of service. I attribute this to the usual lottery of Chinese quality control, where the very concept of "quality control" appears to be subject to some voodoo influence such as lucky days, ritual virgin sacrifices, or phases of the moon. If you get a bad one, don't give up. Just place another order, & maybe the 2nd time around you'll be a winner in the Chinese Quality Control Lottery. Sadly, in my experience this seems to be the case with virtually EVERY product made in China! Apologies if I seem prejudiced. I call it as I see it.

Inferior quality
I first found these remote controls on Amazon.com, but the purchase was linked to E-Bay, where my first two were purchased. On the first of the two, the spring that holds the batteries tight gave out leaving the batteries loose and rendering that controller useless. This happened after just two weeks having received them. Shortly thereafter, I dropped the 2nd one and the same spring holding the batteries tight came loose on that one, rendering it useless. The first two were purchased through E-bay by a friend since I don't use E-bay. For what ever reason, I was able to order the 2nd two through Amazon.com. I don't know if the 2nd two I purchased are manufactured by the same company, but they look identical to the first two. The first two were pure junk, but since a friend ordered them on E-bay, I didn't receive a receipt to enable a return. I hope these 2nd two hold up much better. I have my receipt this time. I have dropped numerous remote controls made by name-brand manufacturers multiple times without them falling apart.

Work Great Until it Broke
It worked great, but dropped it on the carpeted floor last night and something broke so the batteries don't fit inside anymore. Took off a star, not because I broke it, but because it's not as sturdy as some cheaper remotes I've seen around. Not going to bother replacing it, since I would have to order a bunch of other stuff to get free shipping.

This item does what it is supposed to do
This replaces the original for my DT900 converter box - the keys no longer workedThis works well. The only real difference is that this remote takes 2 batteries instead of the 1 in my original. The volume, menu, recall, and guide buttons work. The big round button to cancel the channel scan feature works well.My main concerns with this remote, like the original is that it is very light (feels flimsy) and feels slippery.I gave it a 5 star because it does what it is supposed to do and is fully compatible with my converter box

It Works!
It was far eaier to read than the old one and the buttons had a comfortable "solid" feel to them. It worked perfectly after I got the batteries put in the right polarity.

Functions except on one feature
As a replacement it worked with the converter; however, the remote did not allow the JVC tv to be turned off//on unlike the older original. (This was done in the past by holding the tv power button on the remote and cycling through channels, until the tv responded.)

Perfect replacement remote
I ordered this as a replacement for my Zenith Model AKB36157102 remote, which had failed due to battery leakage/corrosion. This is essentially identical to the original (except uses two AAA batteries instead of one) and worked instantly with my Zenith DTT901 digital tuner, no setup or pairing needed. Very happy with this item.

At first we had a problem with the volume. It would change the volume by itsself. No one even has to be even holding it. After about 2 weeks it is finally working better
