"Bond, James Bond."
This figure, in short, is a trophy doll that renders Sean Connery's likeness to a T. This is easily the most detailed/expensive figure I have invested money into over Amazon. The product includes a beautiful window box with an opening door. The box is designed like the original VHS Tape and DVD cover of the 1962 film itself, and offers some background on its plot and corresponding actors. The figure itself has the best facial accuracy of all the Sideshow figures (which all look the same in promotional images, but far different in person). I feel like I have to put on airs in my own room because Sean Connery is so real in this depiction. Additionally, the figure boasts Bond's recurring dinner jacket/tuxedo with his bow tie. The articulation is optimal, with double-jointed elbows and knees, rotating wrists AND forearms, realistic neck movement, and unhindered leg movement. The body's range of motion is perfect, realistic, and stiff enough to hold any iconic pose. The figure's accessories include two guns, a drink kit (complete with vodka, shaker, and martini glass), and a piece of crap holster. Of these, the holster is the only bad accessory (even despite the fact bond can really only hold the martini glass from the kit), suffering from its inability to fit correctly to Bond. I figured this out after fighting to get Bond's suit off without damaging it, and soon realizing that the holster is designed way differently than the one in Dr. No. Either way, the other accessories are abundant, accurate, and indicative of the bourgeois feel in the movies. Lastly, but not least, the guns! I love bond guns. I don't like guns, but I LOVE Bond's guns in the movies. Connery comes with two signature sidearms from the book and films: The Beretta (Books, given away in movie), and the Walther PPK (Movies and later books) which are beautifully painted and accurate. The guns include two silencers (which is huge for the spy style), and fit nice and tightly in Bond's right hand. In terms of these two accessories, I couldn't ask for more. So, in a nutshell, here are the pros and cons:PROS: + Bond in his film debut proves to be the strongest figure of the entire line. His likeness is identical and expertly painted. + This is one of two figures that includes ample accessories and silencers for guns (Blofeld is very well-equipped as well)! Well done, Sideshow! + The tailored suit and clothing are amazing as is, and gives a highly customized approach for collectors. + Definitive Bond outfit, definitive Bond guns, definitive Bond actor... Definitive Bond figure!CONS: - Holster goes unused, which really sucks considering how it's characteristic of the old Connery Bond to use it. - The Walther PPK requires one to really cram Bond's trigger finger into the trigger section, which can strip the hand or the gun very fast... BE CAREFUL!Should you buy this? I hope you've got the capital for it! It's a really expensive, sought out figure from the long-cancelled anniversary line during Die Another Day's release, so no surprises there. Search for price alternatives on marketplace, as I was able to save $50 on my purchase (it was still quite expensive, though). For Bond fans, this is quite an awesome piece of memorabilia that can use all of your old GI Joe weapons to look like he's right out of the FRWL video game. Do know, however, that this is a DISPLAY PIECE, so rough housing with this sucker would be like playing hot potato with a wedding ring by the end of a cruise ship (bad move)! Anyway, happy shopping, shoppers!-Kevin P.

Cartoonish Version Of Sean Connery, Wait For Hot Toys Version
Sean Connery as James Bond is a great iconic character. Unfortunately, the sculpt on this figure is more of a cartoon version since this was released quite a while ago before Hot Toys standards. Sideshow back then and still is making figures that resemble more like caricatures, but from time to time get good sculpts only to be ruined by really unskilled paint applicators. In this instance it's both that suffer. It wasn't bad for back then when price match quality, but today you can get a really good Sean Connery head sculpt from online with a 1/6 scale body, accessories and tuxedo all at the same inflated price of this old item and come away with a superior version of Sean Connery James Bond. However the Sideshow Roger Moore versions lucked out the sculpt is well done by Oluf W. Hartvigson, even with rudimentary paint work they still look great.
