This book is a great resource to me and I think would be to ...
I bought this book for myself because I am a total "newbie" to strength training. I have never lifted before in my life and was floundering as to know proper form, different exercises, etc. My husband was slightly offended, what with being a guy and all who lifted throughout high school and took classes, but I wanted to gain some knowledge on my own. This book was very informative and even has some workouts printed at the end of the book to help guide you depending on your fitness level. After finishing this book I went out and bought my own equipment so that I could lift in the comfort of my own home. This book is a great resource to me and I think would be to anyone who needs guidance in this department. Good job Mr Kirschen!

At first glance,if you want to lift but have no clue what you're doing, this book is for you!
This is my first review of this book(my second review will be after I've completes all levels of the training program).I love how this book simplified EVERYTHING and clarified the purpose of strength training(also though you how its just not the same thing as body building). There are easy to follow training programs that range from introductory to advance. the addition of easy instructions on how to do the exercises properly just makes this so much more informative. With this book, it seems there's little to no need for me to hire a personal trainer, it seems i can follow the programs and guidelines of the book and get results. When Im done completing the entire program, i will come back and provide a second review on wheater or not the book was effective for me and to what degree.

More than theory like most books, Its legit and has it all!
Its a great book. The pics are a little grainy but the workouts are clearly defined and the descriptions are on point. Instruction to the point so you mind is not clogged up with blah blah. time to get serious? Get this book. you both will get worn but ripped like a Greek statue!

Good, but . . .
Good Book to get started but . . what was sorely missing was what to do when you are not strength training. Cardio or not? Maybe I missed it? The book directly talks to strength training alone and nothing else. I am going to use the workouts that were presented in the plan, but what else do I do for cardio? I have no idea . . . if this book would have dedicated some pages to this it would have been five star AND even some future references on nutrition. So as far is it being a Bible . . not as it is sorely lacking what I have mentioned and I am a bit disappointed. So now I need to go look for another book to address these issues. Also, the Lat Pull Down description shows the picture of the alternate exercise, not the one described in the book (so if you are a true beginner please note this). Possibly a new title to accurately describe its contents?

This book is a must
Great book! I use it regularly and I don't feel like an idiot in the gym anymore. I've been able to switch up my workouts and use free weights. Definitely boosted my confidence in the gym.

Awful Photos
Photos are awful. They are all black and white and extremely dark, very hard to see. I sent this back and ordered a book with color illustrations.

Check it out ladies
Extremely well put together and concise. He doesn't miss any part of the anatomy. If you're in to good health and fitness, I certainly feel that its top of the line.
