My hookah doesn't have the deepest down-tube, so my water level is pretty high, and it getting foamy and pulling water into the hose was a constant problem. Even with fresh water, a little bit into a session, and I was having to limit my pull duration to prevent foaming.Got this on a lark, and first session with it, no foaming! It was incredible. I can easily go two or three sessions on one water change now before it gets any discoloration or foaming.After a couple sessions, taking things apart to clean, the top of the molasses catcher and upper gasket were covered with molasses and tobacco. Unscrewing the top of the molasses catcher, much more tobacco trash and molasses inside. Taking the bottom of the molasses catcher off my stem, totally pristine. The gasket was white, the metal was silver, there was no goo anywhere.The molasses catcher rinses out very easily, but as i was drying it off after cleaning it for the third or fourth time, it rattled. I fiddled with it and realized that the inside of the bottom part unscrews for even easier cleaning, not that it was at all difficult assembled. Really very super easy to get spotless. Breaks down into 3 pieces and rinses clean with just hot water.Great purchase, very happy with it. Didn't know what to expect, but it really improves my sessions.

You really can't beat this catcher for the price. This type of device is great for killer bowls and phunnels that suck down a lot of juice and particles. If your rocking a diffuser down in the water, this will also prevent it from getting clogged. Now I don't have to change the water everytime if I'm feeling lazy. There is slight restriction on the pull, but it's hardly noticeable. The tolerances are nice and tight so there's no leaking through the threads. It will add some decent height to your bowl setup, so some may see that as a negative; but that's rarely an issue for myself.All in all a great product. I would definitely recommend this catcher to anyone before they wasted their hard earned cash on other's that cost 2-3 times as much.

For years I was hoping someone would sell an affordable molasses catcher in the US. I'm glad someone does now.This one is kind of big, so it looks fine on large hookahs and looks silly on small hookahs, but it works well. With traditional hookah bowls that don't have a spire in the middle, some of the "juice" (the glycerin/molasses/flavoring) from the shisha will drop down through the bowl. If you don't have something like this, the juice will drop down into your hookah base and become much harder to clean - but with this, you can just rinse the molasses catcher off in the sink and you're good to go.I use the molasses catcher when I'm using a traditional bowl, and I leave it off when I'm using a phunnel. Makes my life easier.

The strength required to pull air didn't change, but water (and lungs) are much cleaner.

Prior to my buying the Kitosun molasses catcher, I was not even sure what they did. Plus, all of the ones I have seen offered by other venders seemed quite expensive. So, being a lover of all things Shisha, I bought this one. And today, now, I am glad I did. Cleaning of all of the parts down-stream from here is so much easier now. What an excellent buy.As for how well is it made? This is not some cheap piece of “K-M@rt” crap. This is a Real Deal molasses catcher. The machining of these parts and the finish of them is Top Shelf. I am sure you can spend I lot more money buying a molasses catcher from somewhere else. But why would you want to when this product provides exactly what a molasses catcher is designed to do. The bottom line here is, “I wish I bought one sooner”.

It definitely restricts the airflow and makes the pills a bit harder. It’s also bigger than I’d like. A bit bulky. Made out of good material and it comes apart for easy cleaning but I don’t like how big it is and how much it restricts my pulls.

You must use a large bowl with this and it is not very secure. Mine tipped over and shattered.
