SpongeBob is a hit!
This game is a great success as are all the Leapster games. SpongeBob is a boxer so there is fighting for any parent concerned with that. My boys are six years old and I consider this pretty tame and they are really into battles and defeating people in pretend play. This game has them working on geometry (three dimensional shapes), place value, and fractions. At each level Bob has to fight an underwater sea creature when he completes a level he is then presented with math problems. We've had this since Christmas (3 months) I'm not sure if this is like the Penguins game but the questions would get progressively harder. If you visit the Leapfrog site you can actually enter your child's grade level and this helps to set the questions to grade level. We love LeapFrog and this is another winner as far as we are concerned.

Just like the game I played as a kid
I accidentally bought this when adding it to my cart 😭 but it's the game I used to play as a kid and it's legit.

I wish these games were better on diversity and graphics because for the price I could buy an xbox 360 game which is a thousand times better. They are slightly educational, but compared to my kindle, my son doesn't even play these games anymore because there isn't a lot to play.

LOVE this game
My son is a few months away from his 3rd birthday. So at first I was worried he would be to young for this. See what happened is his Aunt (he calls Aunt Bird) came over one day with her ipad. She taught him how to play "angry birds" and ever since then he he points to her and says "bird" LOL Anyway my sister told me to get him an ipad. Let me just say if I would have gotten him an ipad I would have gotten a divorce also, so I chose not to get the ipad. Instead I chose the Leapad. We got this game today and finally a game he will be able to play that is similar to Angry birds. a little just the running etc). we just got the pad yesterday and he is still learning how to use it. But I saw the bad reviews on this game after I bought it. And while I haven't gone over all the parts of the game (just the fun part) If you have a child that loves Spongebob. I think it is a great game. Especially for a child 2 months away from 3.BTW I bought everything from Amazon I think they have the BEST customer service etc.

Not perfect for a 3.5 year old
This is a good game, but better for 4 year-olds and older. Unless I sit down with my son and guide him through this game each time, he doesn't understand the math. Otherwise, Spongebob is great!

Too much fighting not enough math
The characters are fun but the math is minimal. And I don't know why there's all this fighting in this game; it seems very different from the image I have of spongebob. And even the fighting is often too difficult at one point in the game for my six and eight year olds and they ask for adult help. And then there's very little educational value. I don't recommend this game.

Grandson loves it.
This piece was purchased to rreplace a like unit that was "mis-appropriated" from my grandson by a relative. I find it is an educational aide par excellence, teaching some pretty tricky mathematical procedures. My ratings above are in an attempt to view it as a 4.5 year old genius (but i am prejudiced there) great product, shipped well and quickly by Amazon.com....cannot reccommend the game or the company shipping it more highly.

Not user friendly
This game is not very kid friendly. It's hard to figure out what you are supposed to do, and has very rudimentary graphics.
