Air Age Radio Control Airplane Engine Guide

I was looking for a book to help determine what engine to use on a certain size plane and the different engines available both 2 and 4 stroke. This book did not answer that or at least I did not find it. The book has lots of pages telling how each type of engine works and way too much information about glow plugs. Everything is way more technical than I expected from the decription.I agree which the other reviewer and will probably just throw the book away.

I am not new to the R/C airplane hobby, but don't claim to know everything about the hobby either. Especially when it comes to the complexities of the engines that we put into our planes. I bought this book to further my understanding of the engines used. After 30 min of reading I was ready to toss this book out. I won't as I know that it does offer good advice and insight, but the author does not do a good job keeping the reader engaged. I got the feeling that I was being sold a product (products are mentioned by name) and that the author knew a lot and that he lacks the ability to keep it simple rather he tends to write in detail about the subject at hand over the reader knowledge base unless you are a engineer like him and his friends. I will keep the book for reference, but if you are looking at reading a book that may actually teach you rather than leaving you more depressed that you don't know I would stay away from this book. There are so many better books on the subject to buy and invest in.
