Good Grips Power Nutcracker

For the (extremely low) price, it seemed like a nice design and worth a risk. However, in practice, it appears to be primarily a device for shooting nuts across the room. While this made it a hit with the kids, we have yet to actually crack a nut with it -- except by sticking a finger into the nutcracker to hold the nut in place. This is about as nerve-wracking as sticking your finger into a nutcracker.I rarely return things, but for this it's a matter of principle.

This thing has worked wonderfully for me. It's sturdy, and it works.I noticed a few reviewers claimed they couldn't crack nuts with this device. Personally, I didn't have any trouble. The cracker works best with walnuts, but will also crack pecans. Placing the pecans horizontally is the best technique.This is a fantastic product for the price!

I thought this one was like the one I had. Must be too big for my pecans--wouldn't stay gripped. Quality of device seemed ok and might work for walnuts. I returned and was given immediate refund.

To large for my pecans I have to turn pecan sideways, but it works.

1st class walnut cracker. Primarily, because it doesn't smash the kernel inside. It also does look smart sitting on the dining table.
