I remembered it from when I was a kid. It has left a big impression on me

The author and artist do a wonderful job of profiling remarkable horse breed. Good for kids and adults.

I had this book in its original format in the sixties, and now wanted a copy for my granddaughter. This is it! The lovely large format (9"x11"), the full-color Wesley Dennis paintings, the charcoal sketches on the other pages. The stories of the breeds are sweet. With any luck, she'll be able to give this to her daughter someday.

Love this book from my childhood. Love the pictures and descriptions of each horse.

In had this book in hardcover when I was a child, loved it, it is only available in paper back now which was a bit disappointing. When I received the book yesterday it was damaged. The upper right tip of the cover and pages were bent. It's a Christmas gift and I don't have time to send it back for a replacement. The book and the beautiful illustrations get 5 stars but because the book was damaged when I received it I gave it 4 stars.

I'm going thru a program to heal some childhood traumas. I don't have many memories of this period of my life because it was so dark. One day I remembered how much I loved this book during that time - I hadn't thought of this book in decades! We lived next to a horse farm, and for a while, I was able to take riding lessons. Being with the horses and spending hours poring over this book gave me a happy world to escape to. Just holding this lovely book now has such healing energy. If you know a little who loves horses, or you remember this book from your childhood, do purchase it. It will make their and your heart happy! 😁💙
