much better clarity than prior of quality reputation brand
i remember back when i picked my last peep hole and picked the best vlarity onbthe floor. this is notably clearer.i replaced cause i got alcohol on the lense, and thinking it was dust causing smudge used more alcohol on a q-tip and clearly fouled some coating and it gave it a cataract of sorts.new one had a visible imperfection of centering from the outside and only by my over analyzing on the inside very edge only along the edge, and considering that is still far better & wider than a common 3 or so brands at a big local store.its true, 180 is full view requiring glass to be above any rim, so shame on everyone selling 220° views. yeah we at first hear a bigger # and fall for it, which i'm sure is why its common. but i wish we'd go back to a more litteral society.anyhoo, nice! i put a small bead around base edge before tightening as i live in a rather humid climate. Wont see till tomorrow if i marred it any with fingers on it installing and a microfiber cloth. it look like maybe but it could be dust from the cloth sitting a week or two after washing. In other words, I overthink everything and still like it. great analog solution.

Good but you need big drill but
So glad I replaced but you need a huge drill bit beyond 1/2 the size of a normal drill bit set

Looks good and good price
It was challenging to find a 1/2" bore size (middle circumference that goes through the door). This was only one of two that offered this size, the Aged Bronze finish I needed, and with good reviews. Come to find out that the 1/2" is actually 9/16" which many others are listed at. Regardless, this was very easy to install, seems to be of good quality, got high ratings at a very reasonable price. The only recommendation is to make it 200 degree or more viewing area rather than 180 which is smaller than most others. I figure 5 degrees on each side will be unnoticeable given it fit all the other parameters I was looking for.

Broke during install.
It broke during installation as I was trying to tighten it for proper/flush seating of outer lens.I bought it because I painted my door and I believe the classic brass color would look great. The style and look of it are really nice but broke too easily.

Reverse telescope!
While I am fully aware of the intended use, i decided to make a novelty gift for my 3 year old nephew. Hollowed out a dowel and put this inside and told him it was a reverse telescope that would make things look further away. He loves it
