Really good work shoes
One fine day many years ago in an Eddie Bauer outlet store, I happened upon a single pair of shoes on a very messy clearance rack. I wasn't shoe shopping and didn't need them. But they looked like a fine pair of shoes and my wife was still looking at some things, so I tried them on. If my feet could have sung with joy, they would have. My love for Merrell shoes, a brand I'd never heard of before then, began that day. I have only worn a couple other brands since then and have regretted it when I have. So when this construction boot went on sale, I nabbed it immediately. I appreciate with Merrell shoes that I can pick up a size 12 shoe without even trying it on, and it's going to feel like it's supposed to. That has been the case for low, mid, and high ankle models, and applies here too. Now, these are work boots and there is a trade-off...less comfort for more durability and a reinforced toe. I do quite a bit of woodworking in my concrete-floor shop, so I've worn these for several hours at a time and a few days in a row. While I notice some small lack of comfort during those times, I can say that my feet don't feel tired or sore at the end. I've worn them during walks around our neighborhood...about a mile, sloping hills, asphalt and gravel. I notice that they have a heavier feel than my hiking shoes, but it's not bad. Again, a fair trade for the durability and protection. I have worn them for several days over the last few weeks in my shop and they still look new. They seem like they are going to last a good long time, and that would be my expectation based on every other pair of Merrells I've had. In case it's helpful for fit (and if you're near the same age as I am) I grew up in Reeboks and Nikes always felt way too narrow. I believe my feet are wider and flatter than average, and the Merrells feel very comfortable for me. I might put a cushion in these work boots to see if it bumps the comfort up. While they fit very nicely, they also feel like there would be plenty of room for a cushion if I re-do the laces. Very happy with these boots, and I would recommend them to anyone.

Best Boot To Own!
5 star reveiew here! Merrell boots are by far the BEST work boots I've ever owned. I've been delivering for 5 years with Amazon, and I've NEVER had an issue with the comfort, wearability, durability, warmth, and great value for your money! I don't even need to break them in! The size is exact fit. The traction could be better when it comes to slippery floors but every shoe/boot can't prevent floor types. These are a MUST buy! I PROMISE you won't be disappointed!

Decent for price
Bought these for work. They go through very tough conditions daily. Grip is very good for me - uneven terrain, hard metal surfaces, wet, etc. I haven't had any issue with slipping. Waterproof 100% which is good, but also means your feet will sweat probably. Need to change your socks with these. Break-in period was minimal. They feel comfortable to me, your mileage may vary. Wish they had Vibram insole but whatever. They are pretty decent for the money.

They seem to be 1/2 size bigger than Merrell Hiking , but otherwise look well built
I am a fan of Merrell Hiking boots/shoes. I got my first one in a size 9 which it seemed to fit perfectly but got just a bit too big after it was fully broken into but still comfortable so for my next one I went with 8.5 at the local DSW store and it fit very well lengthwise and just barely pinched the 1st metatarsal but still comfortable. For the work boot, I thought I'd get 8.5 wide but it was more like a 9 wide or 9.5 regular. I was expecting the width to be a little bigger but the length was also longer.I think if you are using Merrell's hiking shoes as a reference, go 1/2 size smaller.

Cheap materials
Sole fell off within a year and because I didn't start wearing them right away the warranty ended and the boots are brand new with sole hanging off cheap boots would not suggest buying them.

Best work boots that I invested in
After trying other work boots that left my feet hurting and trying different soles for comfort. I saw that Merrell, a hiking boot company came out with their own work boots, I decided to try a pair and see how they hold up. I work in Facility Maintenance, working on conveyors, changing motors, climbing up and down ladders. After a month of wearing the workboots they are extremely comfortable and durable. Light weight, not to heavy and they feel good on my feet, their waterproof and have held up to the heavy work and abrasion. I haven't had a day after wearing them where my feet are hurting. Usually with work boots you got to break them in, these feel great right out the box. I'm impressed, the other work boots I got cost $300 and hurt my feet and lower back. These work boots I got on sale for $80 my feet don't hurt and lower back and knees feel great. I'm glad I tried Merrell for work boots and will be looking to try more from Merrell.

High quality, well-made durable boot.
Fits well, which is sometimes a problem because I have narrow feet. Used in the Arctic and North Carolina. Both locations have wet conditions.
