In our household we use activated charcoal for three very different reasons:1. Upset stomach. If you've ever had bubble guts, this is an awesome remedy. You can take 1-2 capsules with water, or you can open the capsules into a small glass of water, stir, and drink up. Either way, you'll want to be near a restroom because it will begin to work it's magic within a few hours. I find that it cramps my stomach some, not a lot, though, and the relief actually happens usually within an hour, even if you don't go to the bathroom that soon.2. Teeth whitening. I've done this two ways as well. One, you can simply pop open a capsule and pour the powder onto your toothbrush and brush, or you can mix it with coconut or olive oil and brush it on that way. The second way is less messy. I read online where a woman pops open the capsule but does it in her bathtub instead of her sink so the water drains it away and there'e less mess to clean up. While I like that option, I don't brush my teeth in the shower because of the amount of water it wastes. You will have to scrub your sink out because the black powder, while it doesn't stain, gets everywhere! Do this a few days in a row, but not every day. Your other option is to do it weekly. You'll notice a different by the 2nd session.3. I had swollen gums on the bottom right side of my mouth, and my dental insurance hadn't kicked in yet. I brush twice daily, and floss at least once, so I wasn't concerned that I had something horribly wrong in my mouth. But after a few weeks without the swelling going down, I knew I needed to do something. I mixed a capsule with some coconut oil ,then packed the combo along my outer jaw and gum line. I kept it in my mouth until I couldn't, because of the thick saliva buildup. (Don't swallow because you're carrying the toxins right back into your body.) I spit it out, rinsed, then brushed. I did this about 4 days in a row, and each time I could tell the swelling was going down. I stopped for 2 days (because I was lazy), realized the progress had also stopped, and started back up again for about 3 more days - until the swelling was completely gone. I've since been to the dentist and they didn't mention any problems over on that side of my mouth, so that was my confirmation that it really worked.

Highly recommended before a party!!! I had an acquaintance tell me about activated charcoal and the benefits of absorbing toxins from food & beverages. This did the trick! Take some hours before and hydrate along with it as normal. I felt regular the next day. It works.

The charcoal powder is in capsules, so it does not make your mouth and teeth black.

I purchased these capsules to use as an alternative to traditional teeth whitening strips and have to admit I was pretty skeptic about them at first. BOY WAS I SURPRISED! These are great for that purpose. They don't give you that instant I just came from the dentist office and spent $500 getting my teeth whitened glow but for a penny pinching comparison they do a good job. I drink coffee and tea daily, which obviously leads to visible but not necessarily major staining. This teeth whitening method is a good way to keep those daily staining habits in check. I noticed a difference the first time I used one and have been pleased each time afterwards. I've only done it 4 times and like I said, onlookers won't need sunglasses if you flash a smile at them but you will notice a difference. I try to brush at least 2 times a week with this recipe: 1 teaspoon coconut oil and 1 charcoal capsule for 2 to 5 minutes. Rinse well and follow with a brushing of regular toothpaste.Few warnings, it doesn't taste amazing and you'll feel like an extra from the Walking Dead with rotting teeth when you see yourself, it is also kind of messy so be prepared for some clean up.All in all though I'm impressed and definitely plan to reorder!
