If you accept it as a soap opera, maybe it won't seem so bad
I've enjoyed so many Italian series that I thought I'd give this a chance, but it's obvious why this show only lasted one season. The lead character is a mother of three who left her job as a detective in Rome to work as a filing clerk in Tivoli so she could spend more time with her family. But a series of attacks in Rome's subway has her former boss calling her back to her old job. She's reluctant to take it, but her husband encourages her. Her kids aren't happy about it, and that was my first issue. The detective quit her job 10 years earlier (if I got the time frame right), so how could the 14-yr-old even remember how demanding it was on her mother? "You're never going to be home, just like last time."So mom goes back to work. It means commuting to Rome, an hour away, taking charge of a team that doesn't know her, going from an easy job to a demanding one, and suddenly being responsible for stopping a savage attacker. When she gets home after her first day, she's exhausted...yet she's all smiles, always pretty, always in a good mood. Her husband wants to tell her something important but she says she's tired and wants to sleep. So he kisses her and suddenly, she feels energized and initiates sex with him. Really?OK, now on to another gripe. She's been brought back to her job because she's a brilliant police psychologist. After reviewing the attacks, she comes up with her profile. "The guy is crazy." That's pretty deep. And how is it that a police psychologist, even a bit rusty, misses the fact that her husband is having an affair? When she meets him at the hospital where he works and sees them arm in arm, she just smiles breezily, not the least suspicious, and even says, "She seems nice," as the other woman walks away. Being trusting is one thing, but being blind is another, hardly a vote of confidence for her detective abilities.I could go on, but I'll conclude with this: if you can go in not expecting this to be a serious drama, you might be able to enjoy the occasional views of Rome and hearing the Italian language. And you do get a glimpse of another culture (though I don't remember any volleyball tournaments when I lived in Rome). I've only seen the first episode so far, but I'll keep going for these other reasons.

Wonderful
I enjoyed this mini-series. The lead actress was wonderful. There are two essential story-lines revolving around her: Her family crisis and her daily life as an Inspector. She and her team solve crimes every episode and then there is the ongoing family saga. I was captivated by it all and kept wondering how it would end, which kept me watching. As well, there is a lot of warmth and emotion in the character interactions. As I'm an American, it was fun to watch an Italian series.

It's So Easy
I thought the acting itself wasn't so great....the major unfoldings in the plot a little too convenient....and her magical deductions came without much in put that would logically bring themSome of the children are better than the older actors...BUT it was entertaining...
