Bits keep falling off, utter waste of money
Absolutely rubbish. What a waste of money. There are so many little rubber bits that fall off each time you use it, the petals also fall off. There's always a risk that you could inadvertently swallow a piece of broken off rubber, or heaven forbid, whizz it up and feed it to a human. Poor design, poor product.

Design Fault
Melted and burnt my pan on first use...must keeping a close and regular eye on water levels. Which sounds obvious but feel this is more a design fault. You cannot see the bottom of your pan whwn basket is in, so simply guessing how much water you have or don’t have in my case. Over fill and your just boiling the veg. I would say you need to be very attentive, legs aren’t tall on this so cannot put much water in and have to keep topping the water up. Carrots for example will need top ups three or four times maybe more. I’ll stick to my Asian bamboo pots that sit on top of a pan

Sadly no good for us !
Very much bigger than my old silicone steamer, and the only saucepan it would fit in with the lid closed, was my big casserole pot! I know the size is included in the listing but I stupidly assumed our saucepan set would be big enough, as all other steamers I’ve used have been fine. Sadly also if you are steaming small vegetables such as peas or sweetcorn they fall through the gaps between the leaves.Overall I’ve used it twice and am now looking at buying another soft silicone steamer which is what I had before.

Do not buy
Melted on second use

Steamer melted on second use!
Was excited to use this steamer but was very disappointed when part of the steamer melted off during its second use. Surely this is a major flaw as melted plastic could contaminate food and make you seriously ill! Would suggest designers rethink materials they use. Had to throw it away, a complete waste of money. Will be buying a metal one that will be a bit more robust!

Not entirely melt-proof. Not a replacement for old-fashioned metal.
This arrived without one of the silicone "stoppers" or "bumpers" on one of the flaps. No big deal I thought. But, the plastic body of this thing melts when it touches a pan/pot! It's ONLY the silicone bumpers that are truly heat-proof. On top of that, the bumpers mean that you need to use it in big pots otherwise it's too narrow. Bottom line, I use my old-fashioned metal one most of the time.

Slightly Disappointing
Much larger than previous steamers we've had (can't complain about that as dimensions available in listing) but consequently unsuitable for several of my saucepans. Two of the leaves fell off the second time it was washed. Managed to re-fit them (not easy) but one has already fallen off again. Was expecting a better quality item from JJ, £18 is a bit steep when something like that happens so early on.

You need a big pan.
I read the description and the minimum pan size which was fine. But because of the curve of the “wings” when placed in a minimum pan size the sides are almost vertical and the curve of the wings make little to no room for any veg. In my largest pan of my pan set I managed to get a small broccoli in it. Seems like a great design, feels well made and sturdy and looks like it would clean up well in the dishwasher. But you need a really big pan to make it so it lays open.
