Nice starter cage
It's a nice starter cage. Reasonable price. I bought for my rats and it's a good size for 3, honestly at least 2 more would probably fit comfortably since there is a lot of places to hide and sleep. I didn't use any of the shelves or stairs that it came with and got ladders for birds and rope nets and things to actually climb. I do think if the doors were wider it would make it a lot easier to clean. But overall it's not a bad cage.

Good size cage for 3 rats 🐀
The media could not be loaded. This product was very easy to assemble. I thought it would be to small for my three girls but it's perfect. They explored every inch the second I put them in there. My escape artist tested every gap and hinge looking for ways to go exploring the house and was unable to find any. Now I don't have hard chewers but I imagine if I did they could easily chew on the edges of the plastic shelves.after the photos I also added a hammock and round bedding and I still have space to add more enrichment to the cage. All in all I think it's a great bang for your buck. Only thing that could make it better was if it had some small storage shelf under it, but then it would probably cost more.

A few flaws but great for the price
For the price, this is a really good cage. I've had it for almost a year and I would still make this decision.Size:It's hard to find this medium size cage-- usually rodent housing is either too tiny for a pair of rats or is a huge habitat with wide bar spacing that takes up a big corner of a room. This is a perfect in-between. It's ideal for a pair of rats who need space to run and climb, but it also fits comfortably on top of my bookcase, so I didn't have to rearrange a whole room.Quality:I had started with the Kaytee "my first home for pet rat" version of this (the white cage with a black shelf) and the quality of that product is much higher than this one. These bars are rather flexible, with gaps, and I zip-tied the corners like other reviewers suggested.Although I preferred the white powder-coated bars aesthetically, these bars are also coated (grey) and hold up well to the occasional boredom chew when my doe is trying to get my attention. My rats are not escape artists or into chewing plastic. Although they have taken some big chunks out of the shelves and an upper corner of the base, this is just from regular gnawing. The plastic is not particularly thick, though, so it might not take long for the motivated rodent to find his way out.It isn't the highest quality cage out there. The cage walls do not properly lock onto the base, at least on mine. I tried bending the tabs with pliers but now I just use zip ties to keep them attached. This means I have to cut the zip ties and put new ones on every week when I clean it.Cleaning:The relative flexibility of the bars does make removing/installing the shelves slightly difficult (more so than the "my first home for pet rat" edition). I also had trouble attaching the ramps at the very first assembly, but they have gotten easier over time. [an update: one of the ramps has broken. I just don't use a ramp with the bottom shelf now.]To be honest, I probably spend two hours deep-cleaning this cage, which I do weekly. That includes everything inside (litter box, two space pods, one igloo, hammocks, towels, fleece liner). I think disassembling and reassembling everything takes a little longer than I would like.I saw some complaints about the little indent along the borders of the shelves. This collects waste, which to me is a good thing because it means that no unsanitary matter is getting kicked out onto my floor. (This has occasionally happened, but very rarely.) The plastic of the shelves and base is easy to wash.I do appreciate the depth of the base as well. That is hard to find, especially with the more common all-metal cages. This way, toys and food don't get flung out.Other attributes:Bar spacing: 1/4" or 3/8", horizontal. My doe is a bit of a runt (full grown ~300g) and I think she could possibly fit herself through 1" bar spacing, so the closeness of these bars is really important to me. Also, my rats climb from place to place just as much as they use the ramp, so I do appreciate that the horizontal bars work as little ladders for them.Plastic ramps and shelves: easy to clean, no grates or barred surfaces to encourage bumblefoot or other foot injuries, no need for fleece shelf covers (although you could add those if you want), easy transportation between levels. I can throw it all for a soak in the bathtub when I need to.Overall I'm satisfied with this product, and would recommend it despite its flaws. My rats love having space to bounce around and play, and it's easy to customize with lava ledges and other fun perches and hangouts.

Massive, Impressive and well-loved by our pets
I had the hardest time finding an enclosure for our 2 pet rats that had enough space, but didn't have wire flooring and wire ramps (which are problematic for rats as it causes a painful foot condition). This enclosure is perfect! When I first opened it I was like, "Whoa, this is quite a bit bigger than I had envisioned!" But our critters are so happy in there that it turned out to be just perfect. When it's time to clean inside, I can just pinch the 2 side closures together and lift the top wire cage off of the bottom plastic area and clean that out rather easily. The ramps and floors come off in a quick snap too for quick, easy cleaning. I love watching them do a Spiderman impression on the sides of the cage, and run up and down the ramps. They snuggle together when they want company, and they also snooze in separate areas too when they need a little alone time. It is so roomy in there I could probably put a few more toys in it to keep them occupied. I'm so happy I found this one!

Great Cage For A Variety Of Reasons
We love this cage and so do our 7 week old rats Sugar and Spice. They will have plenty of room to grow. It's bigger than we thought it would be.My husband had no problems setting it up. He used pliers to close the gaps. So far, that has worked and we haven't needed to use zip ties. Zip ties do come in handy for putting diy toys and foraging boxes in there. The deep bottom is awesome! No bedding kicked out of the cage. I haven't had the problem of our girls chewing the bottom. We put plenty of fun chew toys in there for them. We also did a lot of diy enrichment toys as well. You can fit a litter pan in it without a problem.I gave 4 stars because of cleaning the cage. It's going to take a hot minute to clean it. Due to me having severe rheumatoid arthritis, my husband will have to take it apart and put it back together for me. However, I would not let the cleaning annoyance stop you from buying this cage. We would rather clean it than not have it.Having 2 doors is nice. We just wish there were 1 more on the top. There's so many different things you can do with this cage that your little ones won't get bored with it.All in all, it's a pretty decent home for the little friends in your lives! It's now July and our cage has gone through a few changes! So have Sugar and Spice! They're getting to be big girls! I wouldn't put more than two rats in this cage. I really feel they would be cramped if you did. They need room to run and climb. As our girls got older, we removed the second shelf and the ramps to create a more fun and stimulating environment for them. Rats love levels and this cage is perfect to diy levels for them.

Llego aplastada
La jaula llegó aplastada de unas partes y los barrotes están muy suaves así que se deforman.

You get what you pay for
This item is supposed to come with three ramps, mine came with two. They would not send a replacement ramp, they sent a full new cage, and wanted me to return the old one. It was a big hassle when I realized how much effort that would be with something this huge. (I also live on the third floor, no elevator, no access to a car to send to post office. not worth it for a ramp.) The pieces are flimsy and of poor quality. One of the ramps clasps are already showing signs of wear and tear and I haven't had it very long. No removable litter tray. It doesn't open from the top, so cleaning it is difficult.Overall, I did a lot of research to find the right product for my two rats. I had a price range that I would not compromise on, so I have to have realistic expectations for the quality of the cage I bought. There are a lot better cages out there for 2, 3 times the price, and I chose not to buy one of those. I am satisfied with the purchase of this mediocre cage given the price I paid.Update: I've been using the cage for many months now and I regret the purchase. The doors are very small and it's impossible to take medium sized items in and out without pulling apart the whole cage. It's also hard for me to interact with them inside the cage. The wires are flimsy and can bend very easily. Rats can also chew through plastic bottom. On the upside, space is very decent. I've removed one of the levels and all the ramps (they were breaking) and added a lot of hammocks and hiding places. It's a good space for them, but quality is poor and it's difficult to maintain.

I love this cage
My baby rats have been in this cage for three weeks now and we're very happy with it.The base is nice and deep so I can add a good layer of litter plus shredded paper. The rats love digging in it and they aren't kicking litter out onto my floor. The shelves are a little fussy to install but are a good size and very sturdy. The ramps easy to use and sturdy but not entirely necessary. After the first week we removed two of the ramps. We just keep the one between the top two shelves which are almost at the same height and the ramp has become another shelf.Based on other reviews I used zip ties to keep the corners together. I don't think it was entirely necessary as I don't think the rats could really get through the gap. However, placing zip ties at the bottom of the corners makes cleaning the cage easier. The first time we removed the cage from the base the cage started to come apart. Adding the zip ties keeps the cage together which speeds up cleaning.Having two doors to the cage makes it easy to add food and add accessories to the cage.Overall I'd say this is a good buy.

This cage is a great size for that purpose
I got this cage for two young male rats as a temporary home before I introduce them to the rest of my mischief. This cage is a great size for that purpose! One of my resident rats has been aggressive, so the new boys might have to stay in this cage for a while, and honestly due to the size of the cage that is not a problem. There is plenty of space for hammocks and toys, and the boys seem to like it. I'd say its a good size for two adult males or three smaller rats.My rats have had problems with plastic ramps before, but these ramps are easy for them to climb, and long enough that you can place them as you like. The doors are fairly large as well, I can fit my large rat igloo through them.I give four stars because the cage isn't the easiest to clean in comparison to my main critter nation cage, and also the quality isn't at the same level (thin plastic base, some of the wire hooks were bent on arrival and I had to adjust them with pliers). It is good for the price I paid however ($159.00).

Very well designed but but the shelves.
For a large cage it can be taken apart very fast and is easy to clean fully because of that. The two doors on the front of the cage makes it easy to get to your critters with ease. Bar spacing is perfect even for baby and young ratlets. I love the cage but I do find putting the shelves in and out of the cage to be a pain but are doable none the less. This cage is good for two moms or 4 adult rats. Also it folds up into really a small profile, making it easy to store when not needed. Whole thing is tucked away under my bed.
