Easy install very please with the system
Apple car play works great. Very pleased with the options. Installation was easy. Note make sure you install the two screws behind the radio on the mount before testing it out. It will not power up without them.

SiriusXM Tuner Not Included
The system (i.e., audio, navigation, etc.) is very cool and user-friendly. However, it is NOT SiriusXM ready. SiriusXM ready means the tuner is installed, and all you have to do is register the ID with SiriusXM. That is not the case with this system.

Expensive Paperweight
Navigation through southeast Arizona near the border found the navigation system useless for all intents and purposes. Vague pathways outlined in color but no indicate of what nearby or even close until you are upon it. Hooked into RV cab setup was quickly lost as turn camera showed backup trace lines whether right or left. Backup camera stopped automatically coming up when in reverse. Could always be blamed on operator inexperience but as an operator, I’d prefer to have something a bit more user friendly especially when considering the exorbitant cost of this unit.

Best sounding car stereo of 2020
Kenwood excelon 1007XR or 1057XR (without navigation) or DMX1037S (1 year warranty instead of 2 and 4V pre-out instead of 5V) are the audiophile quality DSP units for your car.I upgraded my Harmon Kardon unit in 2019 Subaru Outback with fantastic results. Despite NOT upgrading the factory HK speakers/amplifier, stereo sound from this unit is very crisp and detailed with a 3 dimensional quality.Unit screen has zero lag with many custom EQ adjustment options to change the music to your liking. It has 3 different settings to increase the bass output from the woofers (it feels like my car has a sub-woofer).With the optional maestro module, all the other car features work very well (I can see tire pressures/trip info etc.,) Back Up camera works immediately without any lag while the unit is booting up. Song playback resumes within 10 seconds along with the maps after starting the vehicle. If you have the latest iPhone or android devices, wireless iPlay/android auto works beautifully with screen mirroring and you can save money by skipping the model (1007XR) with built in maps feature. My Huawei mate 20X is working with wireless android auto after enabling wireless projection feature in the developer settings (Go to Android auto - About > Scroll to the bottom > Tap "version" 8 times until Developer Mode is enabled).MAPS: The 1007XR 3D MAPS are more detailed and vibrant compared to the usual phone android maps mirrored to the screen (they have the google white background).CONS:1) "Live traffic" feature only works after you download the free "Kenwood INRIX traffic" app on your phone and use Bluetooth to connect it to the main unit. I don't get it why it is not included free with the Garmin maps (must be something to do with the data). Once it registered the unit, the app says I will get 5 years worth of free traffic information. I am not sure about the amount of fee after that period. The only reason I purchased 1007XR instead of the cheaper 1057XR is for the "live traffic" feature, as I like to zoom out and see any bad traffic on the way to/from work.2) All the detailed MAP settings are accessed by a separate menu, which only appears after hitting the "back arrow symbol" located in the "left lower corner" of MAP view (see picture); Once you find these settings, you can change the color mode to day or night and several other parameters. The traditional "three horizontal lines" icon on the "right lower corner" of the MAP is only to access few quick settings. I wish they combined all the settings in one menu.3) Auto-brightness feature is not working when in sync with vehicle or NAV as expected, so unit runs very bright at night time and there are no manual controls to lower the brightness. I changed the color mode to "dark" to lower the screen brightness. It could have been an installer error with some wiring.4) Root menu folder access from the SD/USB devices takes few clicks;FINAL WORD:Invest in one of these Kenwood's and you won't be disappointed; I recommend buying the 1057XR or DMX1037S models to save money. The audio resolution of this unit exceeds my high end 20K home audio system (Martin Logan/Krell/Cary audio combo). It is probably because it is a closed space, but still very impressive and I keep playing all my favorite lossless music tracks from SD card and USB drives (using "Amok playlist copy" to preserve/force the order of playlist songs in the folders).

Clunky software and poor Bluetooth connectivity makes it hard to justify the large pricetag.
The good:The sound quality is way better than my stock radioPlenty of eq options4 camera inputsLots of connectivity optionsThe bad:The user interface is clunky at best. In a world full of smart phones, this feels like it's straight out of 1999.All kinda Bluetooth problems: audio sporadically cuts out for a split second about every 20 seconds or so, disconnects and reconnects randomly. I just updated the software going to fix this, but still happens.Camera options are limited. For example, I installed a kenwood cmos-320 camera to look over the bed of my truck. I have to label it "front", "left" or "right". I have a back up cam and dash cam as well. So I label dash cam "front" back up cam "rear" that means I have to label bed camera "right".Also, the cmos-320 has multiple angles that you can control with this head unit. But ONLY if you use it as a back up camera. The file explorer for sd cards and usb thumb drives is very clunky. The controls are lacking. The screen mirroring works-sometimes. I usually have to try several times to get it to connect. And when it does, it takes WAY too long to connect. But I have to use it, because the Bluetooth audio is constantly cutting out.The startup screen lasts WAY too long also. It's like the processor is way too slow even for this clunky old software. Also, android auto takes a good minute to connect as well. So annoyingly slow, I stopped using it.Everything seems to work way too slow on this radio.Garmin maps is very laggy. Not very happy considering the large price tag.

Garmin maps not functioning
Stereo Depot put this model in my chevy van and everything works except the Garmin GPS maps. They switch two units and still the same thing. They updated the system and the maps and still Garmin GPS not functioning properly. Now I may have to wait two months for more units to come in and they are going to try a third unit. Called Garmin and kenwood. Garmin said I have to leave the SD card with updated maps in the SD slot inorder for the maps to work, kenwood says no that's not the case and that the loaded maps the unit comes with should work and that the SD slot is for media files. What a hot mess. Stereo Depot is alleging that they've installed other units like this and had no problems. Seems like no one can figure this out. Android play works fine the Google maps, and waze maps work perfect but I like the Garmin maps and don't like my phone connected to my radio reason why I paid 500 more dollars for this unit.
