I am very happy with this product, and would buy it again
Having roasted coffee for my personal use for over 12 years, I have used several different coffee roasters. I purchased this unit as a replacement for the previous model that finally gave up the ghost after many years of service. This roaster works very well for me and my family. It is reliable and with a very little practice this roaster provides consistent, balanced, even roasts every time. I can use it on my stove top using the exhaust fan to eliminate any small amounts of smoke generated in the process.I have recommended this unit to friends and family and will purchase it again. Should the need arise.

Lacks power to stir properly.
I was super excited about this but unfortunately I'm incrediblely disappointed.I turned on the roaster to preheat and the center pieced turned perfectly fine. The moment I added the nuts to the pan the blades seemed to get stuck and resist turning. They just shifted back and forth with no real progression. It's like it doesn't have enough power to turn past the nuts.I got this so I could roast batches and essentially walk away for a moment but I have to manually stir just like I would if I was roasting on the stove.Waste of money. Also temp is in Celsius so be mindful of that. I didn't catch it before purchasing otherwise I would have picked a different product based on that alone. Not the end of the world to Google the temp difference but still an annoyance I didn't want.

Missing user manuel
Works great so far, but it didn't come with a user manuel. If it had it would have been five stars.

Great Roaster, easy to use
I have been manually roasting coffee in a frying pan or a ceramic roaster, over a gas burner, for a while. This roaster was reasonably priced and automatic. One the attractive features was that is has a glass lid that allowed me to monitor the roasting process, along with the rotating stir arms. It was as simple as, set the temperature to 200 C, let it get up to temperature, add 3 cups of beans, and let it roast for 35 minutes.Beautiful, made it to 2nd crack and was as even as I ever was able to create manually. I may never manually roast again. Afterwards, the non-stick surface made it easy to clean.Love it!

I roast a lot of coffee
I have a small coffee farm in the Kona Coffee belt of Hawaii. I grow enough for our needs and some holiday gifts for family and friends. I roast about 100 pounds a year. In the roaster world there is only small roasters like this one or big (expensive) roasters. This particular model is my favorite. I can generally get about 50 pounds roasted with one before it dies. It is easy to use. I will say though, ignore the capacity they show for coffee roasting. About 300 grams of green coffee beans is the optimum amount. Less cooks too quickly and is hard to control. More seems to bog down the machine's stirrer and it takes way too long to roast.

Flawed Design - Does Not Properly Roast Coffee
The first criterion of any design is functionality. That is to say, does it do what it is supposed to do. This machine is made well enough, but does not effectively roast coffee. The bean gets pushed around in a circle but is not evenly exposed to heat. It bunches up against the rotating arm and is not moved in a way that allows all the grean bean to acquire the necessary heat to properly cook. I ended up grabbing the roaster by the arms, my thumbs over the glass top, and shaking the bean in this device the way a chef flips food back into a pan while cooking. That worked somewhat, but it took about 25 minutes for the bean to approach doneness. But roasting the bean that way was not practical.

Nice for the price
The only assembly required was attaching the handle to the lid with a Philips head screw. I positioned the handle between the vent holes on the lid to keep it out of the steam flow. I roasted 317 grams of green beans (blue mug on scale), compared with the 140 grams I can roast in my old SR500 (left of scale). It took 55 minutes outside on my deck at 52 F ambient temperature with the roaster temperature dial set to 225 C (estimated, the dial markings are at 220 and 240). I roasted to Full City / Full City + and cooled / winnowed with a floor fan and an over the sink stainless steel colander. This is a very fast process with a big fan. For novice roasters, cooling stops residual heat from burning the beans and winnowing blows the husks (which separate from the beans during roasting) off the beans (and into my back yard), so that the beans are clean and ready for storage and subsequent grinding. Cleaning the roaster and lid was easy with a damp no scratch scrubber sponge (Cedar Scrunge). No soap required.

Junk
Worked fine the first time. Second time, it would not heat up. Didn't expect much for the price but I did expect to get more than one use.
