Yunnan Pu-erh Tea brick (ripe tea)250g

This tea has an overpowering camphor taste. I just did not like the tea. It has an incredibly bitter and strong lingering aftertaste of a sort not usually associated with ripe Puerh. It creates a slight burning sensation underneath the tongue. It might improve with four or five steepings. I only liked the tea enough to steep it twice. I will try the tea again at some point and see if it gets less severe at seven or eight steepings. It is quite possibly the strongest tea I have ever tasted and I have tried more than 200 different teas including some 125 Puerhs. It does not have the smooth taste one would expect from a nearly twenty year old tea. The 2002 Keyixing I purchased from Puerhshop was much better. If you like a tea that has strong camphor taste this is for you. I will not buy it again.After about a year in storage this tea has improved dramatically. The overpowering camphor taste of the original storage conditions has been mitigated into something quite palatable. There is still a taste of camphor but it is no longer overpowering. I would increase the rating to 3 and 1/2 stars if I could.
