Quality Improvement Over Previous Pulley & Extra Feature
The old metal pulley was grinding on its side brackets which was really annoying and didn't move too easy, so it was time for a replacement. The Strata Ball Bearing Style Clothesline Pulley was an easy swap and provided a much smoother and quieter operation while running out the clothes on the line. It appears well built and I don't doubt it will last well. When I used the old pulley I would clip a wooden clothes line pin onto the rope near the pulley which would prevent the clothes on a windy day from traveling back to the pulley which sometimes would put them in the shade. I tried this with the new pulley, but the open frame design caused the clothes pin to ride over the pulley and throw the rope off the pulley. BUT alas.... the new pulley appeared to have a 'feature(?)' that would seem to allow locking the pulley in place. Not sure if this was the intention of the design or not, but nothing I found seemed to document this 'feature'. The pulley has a set of holes, one in the pulley and two in the pulley frame. When aligned, a pin can be inserted to lock the pulley in place and preventing the line from blowing the clothes back to the pulley. The extra 'bracket arm' that has the small hole was an ideal spot to tie off and hang the lock pin. Again don't know if this was the intent of the hole and the extra bracket arm part, but worked well.

Sturdy and Smooth
This metal reel is so much better than the cheap plastic one I had before. The line flies with little effort as I hang my wash. If the line isn't full of wash, I noticed that the wind can slide the line back and forth but that isn't an issue as the line is level. If your line is on an angle then you would need to insert a dowel to lock the reel to keep it from moving. Super happy with this product.

Great for a home gym pull down or push down exercise
This exceeds the only for clothesline scope of use, but I found it inexpensive, smooth, and excellent for making a home gym pull down or push down rope. The four black tie wraps keep my small rope from falling off the sheaves, but a larger rope would have been more perfect. I have tried it with seventy pounds and am sure it will work for much higher weights.

Pricey but worth it.
Great Pulleys- Ball bearings make for Ultra-smooth operation. Super easy install.

Works as designed.
Replace a plastic model that over time the sun and winters make brittle. Hoping this one holds up better. 6 inch model was actually bigger than the replaced version but it is the right size for the need. Seems to turn smoothly. No instructions, not that you would need any but it's designed that it does not matter which side is up or down. Photo on package could be better to answer that question. Plan to replace other end of the line with this one.
