What color is the ink?

Holy crab, the title even says RED! So, it is a RED ink refill cartouche!

the broad point is very close to the medium, in my other pens the medium point is broader than what you call broad did anyone else find this a problem

I did not have this problem. I love the broad point and find it a comforting change from the medium point.

does this fit any caran d'ache ball point?

Goliath in all colors and tip sizes fit all CDA ballpoint pens.

will this fit my metwood ball point pen

I haven't tried it on a metwood myself but all indicates it will take the Goliath refill.
