Your guitar deserves this
I spent 10 years working in music stores, starting at age 16. I've seen a lot of guitar stands. Every brand and style you can imagine. Even though I've been out of that game for a very long time, not much has changed with guitar stands. We had all this stuff 15+ years ago. Here's my take...if you just want something cheap that mostly probably won't fall over much, buy one of those cheap standard metal stands with the surgical tubing. You'll have the pleasure of knowing you saved ten bucks, and that'll be a great consolation the first time you bump your guitar and it crashes to the ground. Unless you spent more than ten bucks on your guitar, in which case you'll probably cry like a baby. And no one wants to see that, dude. If, on the other hand, you care about your guitar...stop messing around and just get an Ultimate stand. C'mon, man. It's a few bucks more than a total piece of garbage. And for that you get a really well-designed stand that will last you pretty much forever. Here's what I like most...-Ultimate is a great company with killer customer service. What other guitar stand are you gonna find that even has a customer service department?-The angles are perfect. Too upright, and your guitar might tip over. Too angled, and it feels like you're laying it down. Everything about this stand is just right.-You don't have to futz with the placement. A lot of stands, you have to kinda tweak the guitar on the stand before it feels solid. Not the case here. Drop and go. Great for live shows when you're in a hurry.-It folds brilliantly. Look, stop being a baby and take 10 seconds to figure out the little twist lock thing. It's super simple. Twist, fold, twist again, lock. Done. I know you're a musician, but seriously...it ain't rocket surgery. I've not seen another system that works as well OR as easily as this.-Much like a cockroach in a nuclear apocalypse, this stand will most likely outlive you. That surgical tubing on the cheap stands will crack, the cheap welds will break, someone will step on it and bend the metal...but none of that applies to an Ultimate stand. The foam they use, I've never seen it degrade, ever. The angles of the legs and such make it unlikely anyone will break it by stepping on it or dropping cases on it.Of all the dozens of stand companies I bought and sold product from over the years, nothing even came close to Ultimate Support. Not by miles. Once you're beyond the student phase, when you're not sure if music is really your thing, there is ZERO reason for you to own anything else. You want a tiny little folding stand? Save your money and just toss your guitar on the ground...because it'll end up there anyway. You own a real instrument. Buy a real stand.

Overall a good stand
Overall this is a pretty good stand.I wanted a good, sturdy stand to protect my expensive Prucha banjo and this is about the best option out there. The stand is sturdy, has padded arms, and a padded neck holder. There isn't anything on this stand that will scratch my banjo.Unless you have children or a medium to large size dog this stand should be sufficient to protect a banjo from falling over. A cat or small dog probably couldn't knock this over.My only complaint (and why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5) is that the neck holder could be a couple inches higher to provide more clearance for the 5th string tuner. It takes care to place the banjo into the stand without bumping the 5th string tuner on the neck holder.

Easy to use and sturdy.
Easy to fold and travel with. I have used several others and none feel as sturdy. I plan on purchasing an additional one. I highly recommend them.

Two different stands and both are broken before even the first year in exactly the same way
I really don't understand how these stands have such stellar reviews on here. It makes me really skeptical about the trustworthiness of the reviews for these stands.I bought 2 of these from Amazon and used them for just a few months. I have 2 guitars in my computer room (a Fender Strat and an standard-style acoustic/electric guitar) that I use for recording and I thought these stands would be perfect for them because they're not ever moved or taken out of the room and I just needed something that I could depend on not toppling over. Within 3 or 4 months (if that), the first stand started to sag towards the right and eventually the Strat slumped to the ground and hit the floor on the bottom before falling forward. Luckily, it wasn't damaged but the stand was clearly failing. I switched the guitars on the two stands since the acoustic is wider and it held it for awhile, but eventually the stand just gave out and the legs would no longer lock. I bought an Amazon Basics stand to replace that one and kept the Strat on the remaining Ultimate Support stand. Within another month or 2, almost the exact same thing happened to the 2nd stand but on the other leg and, eventually, the other leg finally gave out.I'm giving these stands 1 star but would consider bumping that to 2 for only one reason and that's their customer service department but I think I'm even being generous there. When I contacted their customer service, instead of issuing a replacement, they sent me a "repair kit" that had 2 new leg locks in it. The repair kit requires you to drill through a rivet in the base of the stand, unscrew the bolt holding the lock in place, replace the new lock, and then use a pop rivet to rivet the stand back together. Luckily, I have a drill and a rivet gun/riveter and was able to do the repair but it didn't really fix the issue. The stands kinda lock now but the legs are still farther apart than they should be, in my opinion. My Strat just barely stays in place on the one stand and, on the other, it just slides right past the fold-out supports that are on the legs. It works for the acoustic but I fully anticipate that this is temporary and the stands will fail after another few months. I'm still under warranty on both stands so I'm waiting to see what customer support will say this time but I definitely don't think I'll ever be buying these stands again. Since this started, I've now bought 2 more Amazon Basics stands and they work **far** better than these and, despite the fact that those stands are lighter construction and much cheaper, I feel like my guitars are more sturdy and better supported on those stands than they ever were on the Ultimate Support stands.Really disappointed. If anyone has any suggestions or has had a similar experience, I'd love to hear it. Maybe I'm doing something wrong with these but it's not like it's rocket science. They're guitar stands, for crying out loud.Attachments: I've added a pic of the 2 broken leg locks. Notice how they both failed in exactly the same way on 2 different legs and you can see the 2nd leg section starting to break also.

Solid - attractive - effective!
I have received it, set it up - MAINLY - I wanted something that would hold the guitar without me thinking too much (I didn't want something fussy. I really wanted something I could play, put on the stand without getting up, check the recording and then pick it back up to record more and put it back down and repeat. The GS-200 completely meets my needs. It holds my guitar up high enough that I don't need to worry about the 1/4" cable.... it is quick in and out... it also has the safety strap if you are expecting a earthquake (or kids running through). I am very happy. i have a triple stand where my guitars stay most of the times... but when I am playing, recording or writing, I love that I have this one right next to my workstation.

Simple and reliable
My favorite guitar stand. Its stable and simple, been using these for years. Folds up and locks in place as well if you are travelling with it.

Great Stand
Bought for my husband and he loves it. Super sturdy and attractive. Now displays his guitar in our living room. I did a lot of research before I finally landed on this one.

This is the best guitar stand I've ever used.
This is the best guitar stand I've ever used. It's solid, and folds up compactly for easy transport between home and other venues. I got one as a gift, and bought this one for my 2nd guitar.

Genius!
I think this product is brilliant, and a long overdue piece of kit for me. I mostly play acoustically in small church settings at people's houses, and this is perfect for keeping my guitar off of hardwood and tile floors, and then folds up just as small as my music stand and gets carted out the door. I can easily get everything I need to the car and back in one trip.

However their customer service is great and after contacting them advising them of the fault
Received this order and the stand didn't work. One of the legs slipped past the lock so whenever any weight was applied to it the stand collapsed. However their customer service is great and after contacting them advising them of the fault, they sent out a fully working replacement within a few days, with no questions asked. The product itself is great and suitable for most electric/acoustic/bass guitars.
