This works great and fits perfect. A little pricey for what it is, but still cheaper on Amazon than the store.

I purchased the Essick Air 1051 2 stage air filter to replace the filter on my Essicks Humidifier. During the winter I always use my Essicks Humidifier to add moisture in to the air in my house. I have a total electric house and when we use the heater it really dries the air in house out big time.It cause us to have dry skin, dry eyes and bloody nooses. Not to mention that when it is that dry in your house it also causes static electricity. So every time you walk on the carpet and touch someone you get shocked. This filter fits the back of the humidifier and does a great job of cleaning the air before it comes into the unit itself. I Would Highly Recommend Essicks Air Filters to Everyone that has a Essicks Humidifier.

You must be the judge as to whether or not you want to buy this OPTIONAL air filter for you humidifier. I have run mine for three years and installed the new one in November. Some will say that it doesn't do anything because they don't see cat hairs or other presumed airborne debris on the surface. But all one needs to do it to hold up last season's filter to a strong light source (normal sunlight works) and see that the used filter is loaded with particles too small to see but that, in aggregate, darken the light through the old filter which is loaded with debris. Maybe that concept is too complicated for some but it is NOT "worthless". And it protects your "wick filter" from premature demise.Buy it, install it, trust it, and I assure you, IT WORKS!

One reviewer said it is ridiculous for the price and I totally agree.I purchased this filter in 2015 after the first year of having my humidifier without one. After using the humidifier without a filter for one whole season, I found that you definitely need something. The wick inside the unit was caked with crap and because of this the unit stopped working efficiently very quickly after first use.So in year two I purchased this expensive filter and it did the trick. It works very well however when I went to replace my wick and filter this year, this product was not available. I was forced to reuse the filter for another season. I opened up the filers frame and removed the element and shook it out as best I could. It started falling apart and really was hard to clean. I was thinking they should sell filter elements for it but they do not. So when I started looking at replacing it when they became available I just couldn't part with the $20 when I could buy a brand new wick for the same price or less.Make your own element.Then I had a thought. I bought a DOMETIC RV air filter element. Basically a piece of foam which is used in RV A/C units as a filter. This was perfect! I just cut it to size and replaced the element myself. The best part is the RV filter element is washable so when it gets cruddy, just wash it off and reinsert it into the frame.The Dometic filter I purchased wasn't the right size (sigh) so I just cut it to fit and its all good. Im sure u can find one that is a better size. And for only $9.00 I've got a reusable, washable filter element to use for years to come.Thats the nicest part of this filter, the frame. You can take it apart and put whatever you want in it..Bottom line, you need something..(pics with the old, falling apart filter element and the new filter)

but then they always were! I do this: go ahead and clean the unit out and turn it on its face, then very gingerly get the pins in the slots and pulled or pushed down then send the unit up. I have broken these pins and used duct tape to seal the ends so they stay on. I will be buying it again, nobody in Alaska sells these or the Wicks any longer so, thank you Amazon for keeping them available same as my Printer Cartridges!!!
